Introduction

Technology is the major drive of the new millennium. It affects our lives daily. And

yet we take advantage of these system without thinking about what has been put

into them. It is every aspect from the Military to banking. Now a big trend is smart

homes. Its purpose is to make tasks easier for us.

We are going to look in the top computer science careers. There are so many facets

of the computer science field now. With its ever changing pace and demand on

technology the field can always change a fluctuate.

Although there will always be a need for individuals from all the aspects of the

computer science industry there are always trends that follow technology. When the

internet launched it needed networkers. The need for networkers has been taken

over for the need of programmers, based on the field demands. With the newest

technology trends headed into the cloud I can see a huge demand for internet based

administrators climbing exponentially.

There is always a huge demand for individuals from the security field. Security is a

major part of any network system. We need to be able to protect your data from

anyone looking to misuse your information.

Computer science majors need to be organized analytical thinking individuals. Being

able to trouble shoot and solve technological problems. They also have to have the

creativity to invent the newest technologies or gadgets.

1. Software Developer Create the programs that allow users to perform tasks,

either on a desktop or mobile devices. Software developers should have the

creativity to solve problems in a unique way.

2. Database Administrator - Database administrators analyze and evaluate the data

needs of users. They develop and improve data resources to store and retrieve critical

information.

3. Computer Hardware Engineer Develop and test computer components, such as

circuit boards, memory devices, and routers. They need technical expertise in

combination with creativity to create hardware that can accommodate the newest

programs and applications.

4. Computer Systems Analyst Consistently asses an organizations computer systems

and make suggestions to change hardware or software to enhance the organizations

computer systems. They regularly work with managers and employees so the need for

interpersonal skills is great.

5. Computer Network Architect Design, implement, and maintain network

communications. This includes LANs (local area networks), WANs (wide area

networks, extranets and intranets. They require great analytical skills to evaluate

networks.

6. Web Developer Create the technical structure for websites. They also asses the

needs of users for information based resources. They must have the

communication ability and creativity to make sure the website meets its users

needs.

7. Information Security Analyst Create and implement systems to protect

information networks and websites from attacks and other security breaches

(i.e. viruses, malware.). They need strong problem-solving skills to act as

detectives of the system.

8. Computer Programmers Write the code that enables software to operate

as intended by software developers. They master the common programming

language which in turn helps them learn the other programming languages.

9. Computer and Information Systems Managers Analyze a companys

computer technology needs then oversee the implementation of appropriate

hardware. They need leader skills including interpersonal skills to work with

teams to be successful.

10. Project Manager - They analyze technology problems for their company or a

client organization, proposing solutions and tips to enhance productivity. They

coordinate the efforts of a team of programmers and analysts to complete

projects. Problem solving skills and a broad knowledge of technology and

computer systems help computer science majors to excel in this role.

Results

It is apparent that the Computer Technology field is a great field to get into. The

schooling is short and precise. But It will best serve you if you have the skills needed

for such a career. You need to have organizational, critical thinking, creative,

analyzing, and communication skills. You cant go wrong in this line of work.
