Background of the study

Dogs are playing a larger role in our lives, and working people are choosing to provide

them with a good life. Loving families with active dogs and an active conscience are in search of

better lives for their dogs and peace of mind for themselves, causing busy dog lovers to flock to

an ever-growing number of dog day care facilities across the nation. Dog Services is one of the

fastest growing segments of the pet industry and boarding services represent a key component

in its growth.

In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of households that own dogs.

Furthermore, there is an emerging, steady, and growing group of dog owners that are willing to

pay for a better quality living for their dogs. (talk about Bacolod)

In line with this, Cuddles and Tails will offer high quality dog boarding services that will

cater the needs of the dogs. The business will also attend to the grooming needs of the dogs to

ensure a healthy and sanitary experience. Cuddles and Tails will also provide elite products and

accessories that will satisfy the uniqueness of each dogs personality.


Goals and Objectives of the Study

Cuddles & Tails aims to provide customers with high satisfaction by rendering excellent service,

quality dog care, and furnishing a fun, clean, enjoyable atmosphere at an acceptable price.

The following are the objectives of the study:

a. Management - To appropriately designate organizational roles and duties of each employee.

b. Marketing - To create marketing strategies that will attract customers to engage in our

business. The basis on our marketing strategy will be based on demand analysis from the

sample population.

c. Technical -To specify the flow of activities in order to have a systematic operations.

d. Financial -To recover the initial investments of the owner, to recognize profit and to pay the

loan and other expenses incurred. The financial statements should reflect the operations and

transactions of the business.

e. Social and Environment -To support social and environmental activities for the betterment of

the people, animals and living things. To ensure obedience to the law as well as to the rules and

the regulations of society

Moreover, the business aims to generate profit in order to recover the capital

investment in a considerable period of time and to sustain and develop the business in the long

run.
The feasibility may form as the basis of an important investment decision in order to

serve these objectives. The study covers various aspects of project concept development, start-

up and production, marketing, finance and business management.

Significance of the Study

This feasibility study is deemed beneficial to the following:

Dog Owners: Findings of this study may give them an elegant experience for their dogs lifestyle

even when they are away. This will give them assurance that their dogs are safe and healthy,

thus, helping them to focus on their personal agendas and businesses.

Dogs: This study is heavily focused on each dogs welfare. The results would provide

information on the optimal products and services to be given to dogs. In doing so, both the

owners and their dogs would get high quality services to satisfy their needs and wants.

Future Researchers/Businessmen: The data from this study may be used as references for other

researchers who are interested in doing research or businessmen who want to start up a

business relevant to the promotion a dogs well-being.


Statement of the Problem

This feasibility study aims to discuss business in dog boarding and grooming services to be

located at Villa Angela Building, Circumferential Road, Bacolod City, 6100 Negros Occidental.

Specifically, this study seeks to answer the following questions:

1. What organizational structure is most appropriate for the business?

2. What marketing mix and other strategies shall be used by the management?

3. What operational processes and other related processes should be implemented?

4. What financial indicators shall be met to ensure higher return in investments?

5. What is the socioeconomic and environmental impact of the business?

Scope and Limitation

This feasibility study was conducted to provide a full-service dog care facility in Bacolod

City. The scope of this study is to provide dog owners with a safe place to leave their dogs in

order to attend to their personal agendas and to provide products and services that will cater to

the needs of their dogs. This study focuses more on the dog owners in Bacolod who are busy,

yet who want to provide better living for their dogs.

We will be giving out survey forms to 150 respondents, these includes students,

workers, parents who own dogs. The study will not only limit to boarding services for dogs but

will extend to grooming services as well as to offer products such as food accessories and toys.
The researchers have identified the possibility of growth and expansion of business and aims to

project the operations and development of the business in a span of 5 years.

Location

The location of the business is located at Villa Angela Building, Circumferential Rd, Bacolod,

6100 Negros Occidental.
