TRIPLE HEADER IN LA CEIBA:

The last week in September found Fr.

Herald Brock, CFR, St. Anthony Shelter
missionary volunteers Jair Jacome and
John Best (pictured right, with fetal
models) and Missioners of Christ back in
La Ceiba for a full lineup of events at
the local campus of the Catholic
University of Honduras. We were happy
to be collaborating once again with
campus minister Adolfo Pineda

and members of the campus ministry
team. A Week of Evangelization among
the students included a Mass in English
for those studying the language,
classroom visits and interaction with
the students in the main junction of the
university that involved a large Pro Life
display, rosary making and videos. The
final day of the Week of Evangelization
was a Missionary Congress for the
entire student body with talks based on
Pope Francis message for World
Mission Sunday (The Transformative
Power of the Gospel, and The Kairos
of Christ), a dynamic and interactive
exposition of the story of the Samaritan
Woman at the Well (John 4) and Mass.
The culmination was a weekend
Eucharistic Pan de Vida Retreat for
university students and youth from
local parishes. While Fr. Herald
returned to the Bronx John and Jair
stayed on for three more weeks.
