There’s a growing body of research that links advanced gum disease and the occurrence of heart attacks and
strokes. In multiple worldwide studies, is has been shown that people with advanced gum disease had a 25% to
100% increased risk of suffering from a heart attack. The same is true for strokes.
Gum disease is a bacterial infection of the gums, bones and ligaments holding your teeth in place. It damages
the small blood vessels running through the gums. Bacteria and their toxic products are then able to enter these
damaged blood vessels and gain access to the circulation. This can all eventually lead to clot formation and you
