Reflection #1
10/2/2017
Spanish 1
The Class
The Room
4. What works well about the room organization? What would you change if money were
no object?
a. The room is organized with desks in pods of three, with rolling chairs. Its nice
that the students can work together in their pods, but there is little space for
moving around the classroom, as there are many pods, and students move
around a lot with the rolling chairs.
b. If money were no object, I would buy chairs that were more stationary, but still
were not just regular desk chairs. Crates, or exercise balls on little legs or
platforms, or even some higher up seating that would clear up some space in the
classroom would be nice.
5. How does the room reflect Hispanic cultures (or in non-Spanish classes a learning
culture or culture of discovery)?
a. There is Spanish cultures in the room as Profe has a Spanish flag, and a scarf
from the soccer team Bara. I also believe she has some things up from Mexico.
6. What language/learning tools are provided in the room to help the students learn
and/or use Spanish? (permanent and temporary)
a. Prof has many posters and pictures on her wall that help students with learning
the Spanish language. She has the levels of proficiency up (Novice, Intermediate,
Advanced) so students can assess their level of the language. She also has signs
up around the room with what is currently being taught.
