PROACTIVIDAD: LA ACTITUD QUE TODO LDER DEBE TENER

En esta ocasin hablemos de proactividad, me llama la atencin que este trmino, al igual que proactivo,
los cuales son muy utilizados en las empresas, y sin embargo, no estn aceptados e incluidos en la Real
Academia de la Lengua Espaola.

La palabra proactividad se atribuye a Viktor Frank un neurlogo y psiquiatra austriaco.

Proactividad la podemos definir como la actitud en la que uno no es vctima de sus circunstancias, sino
libre de elegir sus reacciones con las personas y los acontecimientos. No quiere decir con esto que una
persona puede controlar su entorno, sino que entiende lo que puede controlar y lo que no. (1)

Por qu un lder debe ser proactivo?

Steven Covey, uno de los gurs de liderazgo que ms xito ha tenido en los ltimos diez aos, en su
libro Los siete Hbitos de la Gente Altamente Eficaz, ha definido como el primer hbito Ser
proactivo

Un lder, especialmente, tiene que ser proactivo, ya que necesita adelantarse a los acontecimientos y no
esperar pasivamente para ver lo que pasa. El otro aspecto de la proactividad, la prctica de analizar lo
que se puede controlar y lo que no, tambin resulta interesante ya que hace que el lder concentre sus
energa en las reas sobre las que se puede ejercer algn control. Covey llama a esto crculo de
influencias, y sostiene que un lder necesita enfocar sus esfuerzos en su crculo de influencia. (2)

Ser proactivo significa tomar la responsabilidad de tu propia vida, ejercitar la habilidad de seleccionar tu
respuesta ante cualquier estmulo.

Esto implica comportarte segn tu eleccin consciente, basado en tus valores y principios, no en las
condiciones en las que te encuentras.

Los compromisos con nosotros mismos y con los dems y la integridad con que los mantenemos son
la esencia de nuestra proactividad. All tambin reside la esencia de nuestro crecimiento (Stephen
Covey)
Proactividad establecida por la cultura y los lderes de la empresa

La proactividad va de la mano con el xito profesional; las empresas esperan que su personal sea capaz
de anticipar y afrontar situaciones de crisis y que finalmente consigan resultados positivos.

Como identificamos si una empresa tiene una cultura proactiva?

Considero que, un lder proactivo debe saber identificar si la empresa en la se desempea es proactiva y
si no lo es, seria una excelente oportunidad proponer y gestionar el cambio cultural de la empresa hacia
la proactividad.

Una empresa tiene una cultura proactiva si podemos verificar que:

Involucra a los empleados en los objetivos organizacionales.

Motiva a los equipos de trabajo a imponerse retos.

Fomenta la receptividad a las a las diferencias, vindolas como una oportunidad para encontrar
multiples soluciones y puntos de vista.

Abre espacios a la iniciativa, innovacin y a la comunicacin asertiva.

Incentiva el proceso de toma de decisiones, alejando el miedo a cometer errores y fortleciendo el

optimismo.

Recuerda, ser proactivo es tu desicin, es una actitud frente a la vida Te invito a serlo!!

Para empezar Qu necesitas? A continuacin algunos tips que te seran de gran utilidad:

Confa en las personas.

Piensa que en la vida nunca dejamos de aprender y todas las personas tienen algo que ensearnos.

Enfocate en los objetivos y no en los individuos.

Acepta que sobre nuestras ideas siempre habr formas mejores de ver y hacer las cosas.

Busca continuamente nuevas oportunidades y marca la diferencia con acciones positivas.

Jams esperes a que los dems tomen decisiones por ti.

Establece objetivos prcticos encaminados al cambio.

Persevera y persiste en todos tus esfuerzos.

Emprende la accin y no le temas a las aventuras a pesar de la inseguridad

Consigue resultados palpables, siempre orintate a los resultados.

Cambia el lenguaje reactivo por el lenguaje proactivo y obtendrs mejores resultados.

Para mostrarles que slo necesitamos tomar una decisin o iniciativa, sin importar lo grande que sean
los obstculos, si le ponemos empeo, lograremos inspirar a los dems y finalmente alcanzaremos
