Magnetic actuator AM1S
for Landis & Staefa 2W... , 3W... , 4W... valve bodies

Magnetic actuator (DC 0 ... 20 V phase cut) for mixing or straight-through valves.
 Easy to assemble
 Robust, no maintenance required
Short positioning time (approx. 1 s)
 High resolution (> 1 : 200), high rangeability
 Friction-free
 Two-wire connection

Use The AM1S magnetic actuator is suitable for use with the mixing or straight-through
valves, Landis & Staefa type codes 2W...G...K, 3W...G... and 4W...G...

Ordering The AM1S magnetic actuator and the 2W...G...K , 3W...G... or 4W...G... valve bodies
must be ordered separately.
When placing an order, please specify the quantity, product description and type code.

Example :
2 actuators AM1S and 2 valves 2W10G10K

Equipment Possible equipment combinations can be found in the following data sheets:
combinations Summary of valves / actuators for individual room control see sheet 4000.
Valves types Landis & Staefa 2W... , 3W... , 4W... see sheet 4846

Technical design The DC 0 ... 20 V phase cut signal generates a magnetic field in the coil. This causes
the only moving part, the armature, to change its position in accordance with the
interactive forces (magnetic field, counterspring, hydraulics, etc.). The armature
responds rapidly to any change in signal, transferring the corresponding movement
directly to the control disc, enabling fast changes in load to be corrected quickly and
accurately.
At zero current the actuator stem is retracted and the valve closed.

Mounting notes Mounting instructions (Ref. 35580) are enclosed with the actuator.

The actuator and valve body are supplied separately and are easy to assemble on site
prior to commissioning.
Remove the protective cover from the valve body.
Position the actuator and tighten the clamp with a screwdriver.

Warning :
The actuators are not protected against leakage from the
valve body. They must be therefore be installed only in a
position from upright to horizontal (the range marked in
black on the diagram). The actuator must not be
suspended below the horizontal.

Never mount this way up!

Notes on electrical Local installation regulations must be observed.

installation The connecting cable must be connected downwards so that it leads away from the
base of the actuator.
A means of isolation from the power supply must be provided. This can be achieved
by connecting an automatic circuit breaker or switch fuse, for example, upstream of
the control unit.

Maintenance notes Faulty actuators must be replaced. Opening the actuator can cause irreparable damage
to the device. The connecting cable must not be replaced.
