About this guide

8 | About this guide

Overview
1

Infor Ming.le is a web application framework that provides a common user interface for integrated Infor
ERP applications. Infor Ming.le resides within the Microsoft SharePoint framework. All of the integrated
Infor applications in Infor Ming.le use SharePoint functionality, navigational elements, and connectivity
to social media outlets, providing access for Infor partners and customers.
The Infor Ming.le interface includes a header with menu options and icons that activate the display of
Infor ERP applications in the area below the header. To the right of the application area is a collapsible
panel, which hosts a series of Infor Ming.le context applications.
Infor Ming.le provides drill-back capability among Infor applications so that users can navigate from
one application to another to track transactions, the transfer of data, and report updates. Additionally,
Infor Ming.le, along with HTML and JavaScript technologies, provides an infrastructure for sharing
content among Infor ERP applications and Infor Ming.le context applications.
For more information on Infor Ming.le, refer to the Infor Ming.le User Guide. For information on Infor
applications, refer to the documentation available for each application.
This document describes the steps to install and configure the Infor Ming.le application in a single
server environment and provides details about the requirements, installation, and configuration of other
required software. Infor does not recommend the installation of products other than Infor Ming.le, ION,
and IFS on the same server.
Note: For additional details on more complex installation scenarios or for details on how to upgrade
an installation that includes Infor ION, Infor IFS, and Infor Ming.le or Infor Workspace, see the Infor
Ming.le/IFS Deployment Guide.

Installing Microsoft SQL Server

Microsoft SQL Server is required for the Infor Ming.le installation. It can be installed on the Infor Ming.le
server or on a remote system. During the installation, make a note of the SQL Server instance name
because you will need it later.

Using Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or 2012

If you use SQL Server 2014 or 2012 for your installation, follow the installation instructions provided
by Microsoft and select the same options and features that are suggested for the following SQL Server
2008 R2 installation.
Note: If you are using SQL Server 2014 on a Windows Server 2014 or if you are using SQL Server
2012 on a Windows Server 2012, you may receive an error that refers to Microsoft .NET Framework
3.5; see "Error related to .NET Framework 3.5 when installing SQL Server or the SharePoint Products
Preparation tool on Windows Server 2012" on page 109.

Installing Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2

To install Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, we recommend that you create an account, named
SQLService, to run the SQL services.
Follow the installation steps in the Microsoft documentation, and follow these recommendations for
each page of the SQL Server Installation Center.

Setup Role
On the Setup Role page, select SQL Server Feature Installation.

Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory | 25

Prerequisite installations

shows the minimum features you must select:

Feature Group Feature Name

Instance Features Database Engine Services
Shared Features Management Tools - Basic

Server Configuration
Complete these steps:
1 Click Use the same account for all SQL Server services.
2 Select the SQLService account, if you created that account. If the account was not created, use the
default account.

Database Engine Configuration

Complete these steps:
1 On the Account Provisioning tab under Authentication Mode, select the Mixed Mode (SQL Server
authentication and Windows authentication) option, and provide a password for the sa (system
administrator) account.
2 Click Add Current User to add the currently logged user as a SQL Server administrator.

Using an existing installation of SQL Server 2008 R2

If you are using a previously installed SQL Server 2008 R2, you should be able to use it; however, you

install, refer to the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 documentation to obtain instructions on how to install
the missing features.

26 | Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory

Prerequisite installations

Activating Mixed mode authentication in a prior installation of SQL server

If you are using an existing SQL server installation and will use the SQL Server account during the IFS
installation for authentication in IFS, verify that mixed mode authentication is activated.
If you use integrated authentication during the installation, you can skip these steps.
To activate mixed mode authentication:
1 On the SQL Server, open SQL Server Management Studio by selecting Start > All Programs >
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 > SQL Server Management Studio.
2 Connect to the appropriate database instance.
3 In the Object Explorer, right-click the server and select Properties.
4 Select Security.
5 Select SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode and click OK.
6 Open SQL Server Configuration Manager by selecting Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL
Server 2008 R2 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Configuration Manager.
7 Under SQL Server Configuration Manager, click SQL Server Services.
8 On the right panel, right-click SQL Server and select Restart.

Using the required SQL collation for SharePoint databases

Whether you are using an existing SQL server installation or installing a new one, SharePoint has
specific requirements for the collation of the SharePoint databases and the TempDB, which is a
system-level database. The collation must be configured for:
Case-insensitive (CI)
Accent-sensitive (AS)
Kana-sensitive (KS)
Width-sensitive (WS)
According to Microsoft's recommendation, any CI collation for the SQL instance is supported; however,
Microsoft recommends using *SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS_KS_WS as the collation.
For an existing installation, you can run the sp_helpsort command in a query window to confirm the
current collation. For new installations, use the default SQL server settings, and as long as you do not
change the default configuration, your installation will be compliant with these recommendations.

Verifying the SQL Server TCP/IP accessibility

SQL Server must be accessible on a TCP/IP port. For all SQL Server editions, the default port for
TCP/IP is 1433.
To verify the SQL Server port:
1 On the SQL Server, select Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 > Configuration
Tools > SQL Server Configuration Manager.
2 Double-click SQL Server Native 10.0 Client Configuration to expand it.

Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory | 27

Prerequisite installations

4 Right-click TCP/IP and select Properties.
5 Ensure the Default Port is 1433, or another TCP/IP accessible port. If it is not, set it to 1433.
6 Click OK.

Verifying the database access for the installation

If your SQL Server database:
Is not on the server where SharePoint Foundation 2010 is to be installed, or
Is on the server where SharePoint Foundation 2010 is to be installed, but the SQL Server database
was installed beforehand, ensure that the SPInstall account has the permissions necessary to create
the databases used by SharePoint.
Only the SPInstall account must be assigned permissions manually. To verify and assign the correct
permissions for the SPInstall user, complete these steps:
1 On the SQL Server, open SQL Server Management Studio by going to Start > All Programs >
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 > SQL Server Management Studio.
2 Connect to the appropriate database instance.
3 Expand Security > Logins.
4 If the user <domain>\SPInstall exists in the list, open the properties for the user and select Server
Roles. Confirm that the user has both the securityadmin and dbcreator roles:
If the user <domain>\SPInstall does not exist in the list:
a Right-click Logins and select New Login.
b In the login name box, enter or select the name domain\SPInstall.
c Select Server Roles in the left column.
d Check both securityadmin and dbcreator.
e Click OK to save the new login.

Using an existing SharePoint Foundation 2010

installation
If you currently have an installation of Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 and want to use it with
Infor Ming.le, you can do so. The required installation tasks depend on the current state of your
environment. Refer to this table to determine how to proceed.

Installing language packs

If you expect to support additional languages on your sites other than the language used in your
SharePoint installation, you must obtain the appropriate language packs from Microsoft and install
them at this point. Follow the instructions on the download page.
Ensure that you are downloading and installing the appropriate version of the language pack for your
SharePoint version and edition, for example, SharePoint Foundation 2010.

Caution: Whenever you apply language packs provided by Microsoft, read the documentation
associated with it and make sure that you run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard
after you install each pack. To run the wizard, select Start > All Programs > Microsoft
SharePoint 2010 Products > SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard.

Applying SharePoint updates and patches

Microsoft periodically makes available fixes for SharePoint defects and reported issues through the
release of Service Packs, Cumulative Updates, and Hot-Fixes. Due to the limited testing that is done
by Microsoft on Cumulative Updates and Hot-Fixes, Microsoft recommends that you apply these
kinds of updates only if they address a specific issue that affects your environment; see the note below.
At this time, the fixes for all known issues that affect the functionality of Infor Ming.le have been included
on SharePoint Foundation 2010 Service Pack 1 and SharePoint Foundation 2010 Service Pack 2 or
SharePoint Foundation 2013 and SharePoint Foundation 2013 Service Pack 1. You can obtain the
necessary updates and Service Packs along with instructions on how to apply them from Microsoft at
the Updates for SharePoint 2010 Products site at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/ff800847
.
Infor strongly recommends that, before you continue with your installation, you check the Updates for
SharePoint 2010 Products site for information about the latest available service packs and instructions
on how to request, download, and install them.
Note: Although in most cases it is recommended that you apply Cumulative Updates only to fix
specific issues, Infor Ming.le requires, at a minimum, SharePoint Foundation 2010, SharePoint
Foundation 2010 Service Pack 1, and the SharePoint Foundation 2010 Service Pack 2 or SharePoint
Foundation 2013 and SharePoint Foundation 2013 Service Pack 1. If you are downloading a new
installation file from Microsoft, download the file that includes all the necessary service packs.

Caution: Whenever you apply patches provided by Microsoft (Service Packs, Cumulative
Updates, or Hot-Fixes), read the documentation associated with them and make sure that you
run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard after you install each patch. To run the wizard,

Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory | 37

Prerequisite installations

select Start > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products > SharePoint 2010
Products Configuration Wizard.

Specifying a quota template for your site collections

Although this task is optional, we strongly recommend that you specify a quota template for your site
collections. A quota template sets storage limit values that specify the maximum amount of data that
can be stored in a site collection. When the storage limit is reached, a quota template can trigger a
warning in the Central Administration Site that the site collection administrator must address.
If you do not specify a quota template, the storage requirement for your site collection extends
automatically. This can potentially compromise the overall stability of your system without giving you
any warning.
Complete these steps to specify a quota template.
1 Log on to your SharePoint Foundation 2010 server by using the SPInstall account.
2 Sign in to the Central Administration Site (CAS) by using the SPInstall account. Select Start > All
Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products > SharePoint 2010 Central Administration.
3 Click Application Management, and click Specify quota templates from the Site Collections
options.
4 On the Quota Templates page, in the Template Name section, click Create a new quota template.
5 In the New template name box, type the name of the new template, for example: Infor Ming.le.
6 Leave the value in the Template to start from list [new blank template].
7 In the Storage Limit Values section, set the values to apply to the template.
8 To restrict how much data can be stored, click the Limit site storage to a maximum of check box
and type the storage limit in megabytes in the box. The number that you type here depends on your
available disk space and the overall usage of your SharePoint site. We strongly recommend that
you make a detailed assessment to determine your needs. For a standard Infor Ming.le where no
documents are to be uploaded to the site, 10240 MB should be sufficient.
9 For an e-mail message to be sent to the site collection administrator when a certain storage threshold
is reached, click the Send warning E-mail when Site Collection storage reaches check box and
type the threshold in megabytes in the box. If you follow the Infor Ming.le recommendation above,
type 9728 MB. For this notification to work properly, you must have access to the e-mail address
configured for the Site Collection Administrator user, and you must also configure the outgoing
e-mail settings on the Central Administration Site > System Settings > Configure Outgoing
E-mail Settings under the Email and Text Messages (SMS) group.
You can skip entering information under the Sandboxed Solutions with Code Limits section.
10 Click OK.

Prerequisite installations

Roles required for IIS

Typically, SharePoint installs and sets the necessary features for IIS. These roles and features are
required for your Infor Ming.le installation:
Web Server (IIS)
ASP.Net
Logging Tools
Tracing
Basic Authentication
Windows Authentication
HTTP Activation
If the required role services are not installed, install these required roles by using the Add Roles option
of the Server Manager.

Changing the HTTP port of the default website

If you plan to install Infor Ming.le and SharePoint on the same server as the IFS component, the HTTP
port for the default website in IIS must not be set to the default value.
To change the HTTP port of the default website:
1 Complete these steps to start Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager:
a Select Start > Administrative Tools.
b From the Administrative Tools menu, click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
2 Select the node with the name of the Infor Ming.le server and double-click to expand it.
3 Expand Sites.
4 Select the Default Web Site and, under Actions on the right panel, click Bindings.
5 Under Type, select HTTP and click Edit.
6 Change the port to 9680 or another unique port number. Do not change the other fields.

Creating a web application

Skip this task if you are installing Infor Ming.le in a new SharePoint installation and want to use the
default HTTP port 80. Using the default port 80 is more convenient for users as they will not be required
to enter port numbers when accessing your website. In this case, you can use the SharePoint - 80 web
application and the site that is created by SharePoint during the installation.
To create a web application on a different port, to be used by the Infor Ming.le site:
1 Log on to your SharePoint Foundation 2010 server by using the SPInstall account.

Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory | 39

Prerequisite installations

2 Sign in to the Central Administration Site (CAS) by using the SPInstall account. Select Start > All
Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products > SharePoint 2010 Central Administration.
3 Click Application Management, and click Manage Web Applications, displayed under the Web
Applications options.
4 On the Application Management page, click New on the left in the SharePoint ribbon menu to display
the Create New Web Application page.
5 Modify these default settings:
In the Authentication section, select the Claims Based Authentication option.
Note: In SharePoint 2013, the Claims Based Authentication option is removed.

In the IIS Web Site section, make sure that the Create a new IIS web site option is selected,
and enter a Name for your web application, for example, Infor Ming.le SharePoint.
Specify an available Port number for your web application to use, for example, 8080

Caution: Consider using the default web application created by SharePoint on port 80
to avoid users from being required to enter port numbers when accessing your website.
In this case, you can skip this task.

Optionally, you can specify a Host Header name to use in the URL for your application, for
example, sharepoint.infor.com. It is important that the name that you specify matches the Fully
Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of your server.
To obtain the Fully Qualified Domain Name of your server:
a Open your Windows command prompt. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories >
Command Prompt.
b Run the command: ipconfig
This displays the IP address of the server. Use this IP address in the next step.
c Run the command: ping -a <IP>
where -a returns the domain name of your server and <IP> is the IP address obtained in the
previous step.
The Fully Qualified Domain name is returned in the first response line after your command
between the word Pinging and the IP address you provided.
For example: Pinging myserver.mydomain.com [<IP>]

6 Locate the Application Pool section and modify these default settings:
Make sure that Create new application pool is selected and specify DOMAIN
NAME\SPServices account as the Configurable option.
Locate the Database Name and Authentication section. To make it easier to identify the database
used by your application, replace the long string of numbers and letters in Database Name, for
example WSS_Content_8fdf4d95865947c0acff56ea4f5eb801, with your server name, the word
Mingle, and the port selected for your application. For example:
WSS_Content_MySharePointServer_Mingle_8080.
You can leave all other fields on this page unchanged with their default values.

Troubleshooting techniques

SSO does not work: unexpected sign-in dialog in

Internet Explorer (using AD FS or otherwise)
The user is logged in with his Windows domain account. When accessing IFS, unexpectedly a browser
sign-in (username/password) dialog is displayed.
Cause 1: The federation services site is not registered as a local intranet site. Therefore Internet
Explorer does not attempt silent sign-in, using the current Windows credentials, to the site. Instead,
the browser shows a username/password dialog.
Solution 1: Add the federation services system or the domain of that system to the list of local intranets
in Internet Explorer. Complete these steps:
1 Open Internet Explorer.
2 Select Tools > Internet Options.
3 On the Security tab, select Local intranet and click Sites.
4 In the Local intranet window, click Advanced.
5 Add your domain in this format:

https://*.[domain]

Cause 2: Internet Explorer is configured to always prompt for username/password.

Solution 2: Change the configuration for Internet Explorer. Complete these steps:
1 Open Internet Explorer.
2 Select Tools > Internet Options.
3 On the Security tab, select Local intranet and click Custom level.... The Security Settings - Local
Intranet Zone window is displayed.
4 In the Settings pane, change the User Authentication / Logon setting from Prompt for user name
and password to one of the Automatic logon options.

Repeated browser sign-in dialog and/or HTTP error

401 Unauthorized on sign-in, using correct credentials
(AD FS or IFS, or elsewhere)
When navigating to AD FS, or to an application which uses Integrated Windows Authentication, such
as IFS in Windows mode, for sign-in, the browser shows a sign-in dialog. Sign-in with the correct
credentials fails. Therefore a fresh browser sign-in dialog is displayed.
There are different causes for this problem. See the more detailed symptoms described below.

90 | Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory

Troubleshooting techniques

If the below information does not help sufficiently, you can switch on additional Kerberos-related logging
and inspect the events in the System event log. See this Microsoft Knowledge Base article: http://
support.microsoft.com/kb/262177 .

Possibility #1: Extended Protection (observed only for AD FS)

The Security event log of the server has an Audit Failure event with Status: 0xc000035b. This
was only observed for AD FS.
This problem was observed with Firefox 3.6 and Google Chrome 7 browsers. The problem also occurs
when using Fiddler to decrypt HTTPS traffic. Without Fiddler, the problem does not occur in Internet
Explorer.
Solution: Switch Extended Protection off for the AD FS web application. Complete these steps:
1 On the AD FS system, open IIS Server Manager.
2 Select Sites > Default Web Site > adfs > ls.
3 In the Features view under the IIS heading, open the Authentication feature.
4 Open the Windows Authentication Advanced Settings... dialog.
5 Set extended protection to Off. By default the extended protection is probably set to Accept.
You do not have to restart the 'ls' app or IIS.
For details on the benefits of Extended Protection, see this blog post: https://blogs.technet.com/b/srd/
archive/2009/12/08/extended-protection-for-authentication.aspx.

Possibility #2: ApplicationPoolIdentity (IFS 10.1 or older)

You are signing in to IFS in Windows mode, and you are using IFS 10.1 or older. The problem disappears
if you complete one of these steps:
Reboot the system running IFS.
In the IIS manager, find the 'IFSAppPool' application pool. In the advanced settings of this pool,
change the identity from ApplicationPoolIdentity to NetworkService.
There is no other way to find out whether your system is in this specific incorrect state.
Cause: You ran into the Microsoft bug described in this Microsoft Knowledge Base article: http://support.
microsoft.com/kb/2545850. This occurs when the machine account password is changed (by default
it changes automatically every 30 days), and then IIS is restarted, for example, using iisreset. After
that, "a flag is set in a global credential incorrectly", which causes the sign-in failure.
Solution: Set the IFSAppPool identity set to NetworkService, as described above. Alternatively, you
can upgrade to IFS 10.2 or later, which uses the NetworkService identity.

Possibility #3: outdated machine account password / old VM snapshot

You started a PowerShell or Command Prompt window, using 'Run as Administrator'. You run the
nltest /sc_reset:DOMAIN_NAME command, where DOMAIN_NAME is the name of your Windows
domain. The command results in this message: I_NetLogonControl failed: Status = 5 0x5
ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED.

Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory | 91

Troubleshooting techniques

You must run this command as administrator, otherwise this message is displayed: ERROR_ACCESS_
DENIED. Normally, when run as administrator, this command results in The command completed
successfully.
Cause: The application that uses Integrated Windows Authentication, such as IFS in Windows mode,
runs on a system, or a VM, which was restored to a previous state, with at least two machine password
changes in between. Therefore all communication using the machine account (
DOMAIN_NAME\hostname$) fails. By default, the Windows machine password is automatically changed
every 30 days. For details, see this blog post:

https://blogs.msdn.com/b/sudhakan/archive/2010/01/07/experimenting-with-windows-machine-account-passwords-and-vm-snapshots.aspx

Solution: Make the machine rejoin the domain. You must use a Windows domain account with sufficient
rights. See the above blog post for one method to do this. If your Windows domain has two different
names, such as INFOR and infor.com, you can use the following, simpler, procedure:
1 Right-click the Computer node and select Properties. Alternatively, in the Control Panel, select
System.
2 In the Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings section, click Change settings. The
System Properties dialog is displayed.
3 On the Computer Name tab, click Change....
4 Replace the displayed domain name by the alternative name for this domain and click OK.
For example, replace infor.com by INFOR.
5 Reboot the system.

Possibility #4: Web UI

You have installed Web UI on the same system as your IWA-application (such as IFS in Windows
mode).
Cause: There is a problem with Kerberos-related SPNs in Active Directory. This is caused by the
configuration used by Web UI.
Solution: This is a known Web UI issue. See this KB article on http://www.inforxtreme.com: http://www.
inforxtreme.com/espublic/EN/solutions/ViewSolution.asp?SolutionID=1135674.
Workaround: Complete these steps:
1 In IIS where IFS resides, under Default Web Site, select the IFS application
2 For IFS, open the Authentication page.
3 In the Authentication page, right click Windows authentication, which is enabled, and select
Providers.
4 In the Providers page, move NTLM above Negotiate.

92 | Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory

Troubleshooting techniques

Possibility #5: Use of an alias (via the SSL certificate)

You use an alias for the hostname, and possibly in the SSL certificate. The repeated browser sign-in
dialog is only displayed if the browser on the IFS system itself is used. When using an URL with the
original host name, not the alias, then the sign-in works fine.
Cause: The use of the alias in the URLs to access the IFS application somehow breaks the sign-in
protocols (Kerberos / NTLM).
Workaround: Do not use the browser on the IFS server, but use a browser on a client system.

Possibility #6: Non-default installation location

You installed IFS or ION to a non-default location, and outside of C:\Program Files or C:\Program
Files (x86). When accessing the web application, one of these messages is displayed:
HTTP error 401 Unauthorized
The more precise error 401.3: "You do not have permission to view this directory
or page because of the access control list (ACL) configuration or
encryption settings for this resource on the Web server."
Cause: If IFS, or any other web application, runs in IWA mode, then IIS checks whether the authenticated
user can read the web application's source files. So, in this case IIS checks for authorization on this
folder: D:\apps\Infor\Federation Services.
If the standard location, under C:\Program Files, is used, then by default the standard local group
'Users' has read access. This group includes the built-in group NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users
(S-1-5-11), which includes every IWA-authenticated user. So, in this case everything works fine.
If a different location, for which users have no read access, is chosen , and IFS is in IWA mode, then
an error, such as the one above, occurs.
Solution: After installation of IFS or ION to a non-default folder, change the Security properties of that
folder and its subfolders as follows: allow Read access by the local group 'Users', or any other group
which includes all users which will use IFS or ION. Read access is sufficient.

Connection to a remote IFS database fails because

NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON is usedNT
AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON
The IFS database is on a different system than the IFS application. In the IFS application in the browser,
or in one of its log files, this error is displayed:

"Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'"

Solution: See these sections:

IFS reports a synchronization error while synchronizing

users
IFS uses the pre-determined TCP port of 555 to synchronize users. You can choose or modify this port
at time of installation.
In the event that the synchronization fails because there is an unlikely conflict with this port, the following
changes in configuration should take place.
The Infor Ming.le Enterprise administrator can configure the port by using the Administration settings
page to change the URL/Port for the IFS Timer Service URL.
Error: Load operation failed for query 'GetSyncUsersSchedulingModel'. No connection could be made
because the target machine actively refused it tcp://[IFS server].[domain]:[port]/
Solution:
1 Log on to Infor Ming.le by using the Infor suite URL as the Infor Ming.le administrator.
Note: The Infor suite URL: https://sharepointserver.infor.com/SitePages/InforSuite.aspx

2 Click the Admin link near your profile picture.

3 In the IFS Timer Service URL text box under System Settings, change the port number in the URL:

Issues when installing the IFS application

This section describes issues that can occur when you install the IFS application.

Installation fails, log file recommends "manually creating the appropriate logins and
permissions in SQL Server"
The installation of IFS fails. The final screen shows a red icon with a cross, and the log file contains
these lines:

...
INFO : Checking database logins.
INFO : Creating connection to server '<SQL Server instance>', database
'INFORFS' (..).
INFO : Connection created.
INFO : Searching for login(s) ...
INFO : Therefore the following query should return 1: SELECT COUNT(*)
AS numberOfLogins FROM sys.server_principals WHERE ...
ERROR : ... login(s) found instead of ...
RECOMMENDATION : Please refer to the documentation for manually creating
the appropriate logins and permissions in SQL Server.
INFO : Checked database logins.
...

Earlier in the log file there may be ERRORs related to this, which indicate that something went wrong
while creating SQL Server logins.
Cause: For some reason, the installer could not create the appropriate account(s). An ERROR line in
the log file may provide more details.
Solution: Manually create the SQL Server logins. This section describes the logins to create, and how
to create them.
IFS 10 requires these logins in SQL Server:
If the database is on the same system as IFS:
IIS APPPOOL\IFSAppPool with read-write rights
The network service account with read-only rights
On English systems, this account is called NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE. On German
systems, it is called NTAUTORITT\NETZWERKDIENST, and so on. See http://msdn.microsoft.
com/en-us/library/ms143504.aspx#Localized_service_names .

If the database is on a different system than IFS:

[domain] \ [IFShostname]$ with read-write rights.

Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory | 95

Troubleshooting techniques

Normally these accounts are automatically granted access to SQL Server by the installer, but this
administration failed for your installation. Therefore you must manually grant access to SQL Server.
To grant access to SQL Server for a Windows user XYZ\ZY, with read-write rights, run this SQL script,
for example using SQL Server Management Studio:

CREATE LOGIN [XYZ\ZY] FROM WINDOWS WITH DEFAULT_DATABASE=[INFORFS],

DEFAULT_LANGUAGE=[us_english]
USE [INFORFS]
EXEC sp_grantdbaccess [XYZ\ZY]
EXEC sp_addrolemember @rolename = 'db_datareader',@membername = [XYZ\ZY]
-- the following line is only needed for write access
EXEC sp_addrolemember @rolename = 'db_datawriter',@membername = [XYZ\ZY]

Issues when running the IFS application

This section describes issues that can occur when running the IFS application.

Invoke operation 'DoBootstrap' failed

During the bootstrap of the IFS application, or later, this error occurs:

Invoke operation DoBootstrap failed.

Error when trying to find user in Active Directory.
Base Exception System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException,
Message: Unknown error (0x8000500c)
Inner exception messages: Error when trying to find user in Active

Solution: Complete these steps:
1 Navigate to IFS Configure > Parameters and specify the appropriate Active Directory path.
The tooltip explains you how to define the path, and provide an appropriate domain userid and
password.
2 Try the bootstrap action again.

The IFS application gives HTTP error 500.21 - Internal Server Error

96 | Infor Ming.le Installation and Configuration Guide for Active Directory

Troubleshooting techniques

Cause: The .NET Framework 4 registration is not correct.

Solution: Run this command line:
%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe /ir

The IFS application, or some other application, gives HTTP error 404 (not found)
after configuring SharePoint
Navigating to the IFS application (or some other application) results in HTTP error 404, after you have
configured SharePoint.
Cause: You just ran the SharePoint Foundation 2010 Configuration Wizard. This wizard created an
IIS site called 'SharePoint - 80' with an HTTP binding on port 80. You already had IFS, or some other
application, installed on another site with a binding on port 80. Therefore, the other site and the
'SharePoint - 80' site cannot run simultaneously. Therefore, IIS has stopped the other site and IFS or
the other application is unreachable.
Note that there are many other causes for HTTP error 404. Therefore a different fix may be applicable.
Solution: Open the IIS Manager, and select and stop the 'SharePoint - 80' site. Select and start the
site containing IFS or the other application, and start it.

The IFS application, or some other application such as AD FS, gives HTTP error 500
after creating a new SharePoint web application
Navigating to the IFS application or some other application results in HTTP error 500, after you have
created a SharePoint web application.
Cause: When creating the SharePoint web application, you did not let SharePoint create an IIS site.
Instead you chose to use an existing site, specifically the site where IFS or some other application was
already installed. This action corrupted the other application.
Note that there are other causes for HTTP error 500. Therefore a different solution can be applicable.
Solution: Reinstall the software. Alternatively, you can remove or rename the web.config file at the
root of the site where IFS or the other application is installed. Note that this will pollute the site.

Issues with IFS Web Services

This section describes some issues with IFS Web services.

ID3037: The specified request failed. In AD FS event log: error ID4007

The Federation Service encountered an error while processing the

WS-Trust request.
Request type: http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-trust/200512/RST/Issue

Additional Data
Exception details:
Microsoft.IdentityModel.SecurityTokenService.RequestFailedException:
ID4007: The symmetric key inside the requested security token must be
encrypted. To fix this, either override the
SecurityTokenService.GetScope() method to assign appropriate value to
Scope.EncryptingCredentials or set Scope.SymmetricKeyEncryptionRequired
to false.

Cause: The absence of the service certificate in the Relying Party configuration in AD FS. The symmetric
key, to which the exception text refers, is a so-called 'proof key'. 'Proof key' is short for 'proof of
possession key'.
Solution: Import the certificate, only the public key, in the relying party in AD FS.

There is an HTTP binding in IIS for the Web site.

Cause: A problem with the HTTP binding.
Solution: Clear the SSL Required check box in the SSL Settings in the features view of the IFS

Configuring the Twitter Tracker context application

Infor Ming.le provides a Twitter Tracker context application. For this context application to function
properly, the Infor Ming.le administrator must provide the Consumer Secret and Consumer Code. You
can obtain the Twitter Consumer Secret and Consumer Code from the Twitter Web site: https://dev.
twitter.com/apps/new.

Entering the Twitter Consumer Secret and Consumer Code in Infor Ming.le
After you obtain the Consumer Secret and Consumer Key, to enter them in Infor Ming.le:
1 Log on to Infor Ming.le as the site collection administrator.
2 Select Site Actions > Site Settings.
3 Under Infor Ming.le Site, click Manage Administrative Settings.
4 Under the Context Application Configuration section, specify the Twitter Tracker Consumer Secret
and Consumer Code.
5 Click Create.
After you save the Twitter Consumer Secret and Consumer Code, the Twitter Tracker context
application functions correctly on all pages on which the context application is rendered. The Twitter
Consumer Secret and Consumer Code are saved at a site collection level. Any sub-site that has
the Twitter Tracker context application uses the Twitter Consumer Secret and Consumer Code.
There may be usage limits set by Twitter on the API Consumer Secret and Consumer Code. All
users' requests count toward this limit because the Twitter Consumer Secret and Consumer Code
are shared.
