What do you do when a student gets sent to the office for classroom disruptions? o Detention or suspension o Also, calling mom or dad and involving the classroom teacher How often do students get sent to the office for disruptions? o Depends-more on shortened day or holiday-these kids dont want to be at home- no food o On an average day-3 to 4 kids What happens if a student gets sent to the office several times? o By the 2nd or 3rd time-meeting with parents--by this time the problem ends o After this-out of school of suspension o An out of school suspension rarely happens-will stop when mom and dad have to come in usually How do you work to prevent students from getting sent to the office? o Enforce classroom roles-make sure that kids are aware of the classroom roles and teachers too o Call mom and dad or have them follow them around (If it is bad) What is the most common reason students get sent to the office? o The use of cell phones-not banned but its a teachers decision How do you help teachers find ways to keep problem students in class? o Work with teachers-engagement, principal sit in class and observe, find ways to find new growth
