Sanitation means more than just having access to a toilet.

Sanitation
encompasses excreta disposal, solid waste and waste water management
and hygienic practices. Therefore, sanitation monitoring systems should strive
to cover all these aspects.

Some outcome measures are:

Efficiency measures: These measures are productivity and cost effectiveness


measured as ratio of outputs per inputs. Examples of efficiency measures
include turnaround time.

Some figures:

- Rural families access to toilets was around 50% in 2016. Our aim is to
improve it to 65% by 2019
- Cost effective waste management systems to be installed in rural
areas.

Result measures: These measures are the end result of whether services meet

proposed targets or standards and demonstrate impact and benefit of


activities of the program.

Some figures:

- Tourism generate approx. 6.6% of Indias GDP and 39.5 Million Indians
are directly employed in this sector. The biggest limitation for India to
promote tourism is cleanliness.
- Ranked 52 in 2015, India climbed up by a healthy 12 places to be
ranked 40 in 2016.
- Indias travel and tourism sector were the fastest growing amongst the
G-20 countries, growing by 8.5% in 2016.
- Our aim is to create more no. of jobs and thus try to help the Indian
economy
Quantitative measures: These measures reflect the reach of the program.
How many people are directly affected by it.

Some figures:

- In a short span of three years our target is to construct 50 million toilets


across rural India.

- Increasing the coverage from 39% to 69%

Availability measures: This measure calculates the availability of resources at


any given time.

Some figures:

- Helpline facility is provided 24/7.

- People can go online and register their complaints.

- In monetary terms: To provide an incentive of 15000 for each toilet


constructed by BPL family.
