October 8, 2017 to October 11 ,2017

I decide this week to gather information about the resources that the school have. On Sunday, I asked
my MST if I can have a tour with her around the grade two classes to take a look of the resources. And
exactly, that's what happened. We went to see the resources and I asked my MST about the name of
each tool and the use of it if I dont know. I wrote down the new resources so, I may use them late on
my teaching planning.

Then on Monday, I went to grade one classes to explore the different resources. Unfortunately, I got the
chance to see two classes only because of the time. However, I got the enough information that I need.
After I discussed with the teacher, I found out similar materials that my MST has. For example, numicon,
blocks and cubes. The teacher ensures to include it in her lesson because, it facilitates the students
learning.

Then on Tuesday and Wednesday, I went to grade five class. Adding to that, I went to the resource room
and discover the various resources that the school provide. They offer many different resources that
the teacher may need. The resources are useful to deliver the lesson for the students and get them to
learn by themselves. Indeed, having different materials is what accepted in the Ajman Academy since
they apply IB to their teaching. Which means, students used to have hands on activities. Where
according to Piaget the best learning occurs when the students get to have hands on activities instead
to have an explanation by an adult.

Using the math Manipulatives.

I observed the Math lessons, and take photos about the manipulative that the teacher use to teach the
lessons. She had various and useful materials such as, cubes, counters, dice, base ten blocks, etc.. I
observed a different class with my colleague to see the differences in using the manipulatives. I noticed
that in grade five, the teacher doesnt have math materials as much as my MST has. She borrows the
materials from the resource room that the school provides. However, the way of teaching is essential for
students to learn. My MST had the ability to convey the concepts to students.
