SUBJECT: Request for Proposal for STEM-Related Work

DATE: 9/27/2017

An RFP, or Request for Proposal, has been released on Grants.gov which pertains to the
work involved in our major. Titled, Cyberlearning for Work at the Human-Technology Frontier,
this grant opportunity gives us the ability to do work relevant to our major and profit from it. I
highly recommend each of you to consider this opportunity.

The National Science Foundation put this RFP out with the intention of funding exploratory
and synergistic research in learning technologies to prepare learners to excel in work at the
human-technology frontier. Its purpose is to educate and re-educate learners of all ages in
STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), with a focus on working in highly-
technological environments. The team working on this would be developing innovative
technologies to assist and reshape the learning process. This will require:

Knowledge of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)

Knowledge of education and learning sciences, computer and information science and
engineering, and cognitive, behavioral and social sciences
Ability to work well in a group

ONLY SERIOUS PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS SHOULD RESPOND

A proposal must be made before any of the work can begin, and any member of the team
must be a part of the creation of this proposal. Although the NSF did not specify any details
about the proposal, I estimate that it should be no less than 10 pages, but this should not be an
issue with a full team.
