Hate Crime in the United States

Dear Editor:

Every city, in the United States are dealing with hate crime. They are steadily increasing

with the ongoing population of the United States. There are many occasions that occur with hate

crime, in which it has been spreading across the United States. Hate Crime are dangerous acts

that is towards people in the world. The United States have treated hate crimes as dangerous

threats to the race, gender, and religion. With the hate crime becoming larger, as hate-crime

groups are posing threats towards the LGBT, Jewish, and Muslim people. Since race, gender,

and religion are the most common classification in the United States for hate-crime, it maneuvers

the fact they are the most targeted group. There are other articles that prove that not every hate-

crime is not directed to those three groups.

Hate Crime is usually a violent act that many people are statically influenced on attacking

these listed groups in the LGBT, Jewish, and Muslims. It is a devastating factor that preaches

hatred and intolerance to any person. The hate crime activists main targets in the United States

can fatally hurt someones reputation as it can bring harm to the victims. With the hate crime

rising in population in the United States, many people are fearful in the results that are being
Jeune 2

increased by the hate crime activists. There should be a change for hate crime in the Untied

States, as it can bring harm to its victims.

In the United States, race relations are divided between the many races that conflict with

other American citizens. In 1968 the government passed the first hate crime bill, which was

made to confront people by not harming people of race, color, religion, or national origin. A

Hate Crime is any act of individuals who focus on going after another group based on race,

gender, or religion. to violently offend them. The Federal Bureau of Investigation proves that the

results of hate crime are bias between the different ethnicities. Muslim, Jewish, and LGBT

people are among the ones who are affected by on hate crime the most in the United States.

Since the Muslims, Jews, and LGBT are at fault, due to their results they are targeted by the FBI

and police. Also, race is a factor towards the American citizens on hate crime as 46.3% of the

perpetrators were white, and 26.1% were black. As race is prominent in the United States for

hate crime, it shows that many whites go against the other ethnicities and religions as they

perpetrate the victims. There are more white citizens who have attacked other groups, as black

citizens are at a smaller percentage in dealing with hate crime.

The article mentions on how Muslim, Jews, and LGBT population are being increased on

the hate crime that results in the United States. Ever since 2015 the hate crimes have steadily

increased in America, since many people are nervous from these groups. If these results are bias,

then how come these groups are being threatened by Americans. They are being threatened

towards most white Americans. Hate crime that is brought by different ethnicities who go against

the other groups and they result to violent harm. The violent harm that is going against the

religions, and LGBT community causes a problem for many people. As the articles, that were

selected it shows the similarities and differences on the different articles that proves that they are
Jeune 3

correct. For the clarification of the articles that I distributed it brings a result on which news

articles are specifically correct and incorrect.

Even if hate crime has increased in the United States, it has not declared proof towards

Muslims, Jews, and the LGBT communities. As the results show, that these groups are the top

three hate groups in America it does not bring an argument on how they are being abused. With

unorthodox articles that are being bias go towards the Anti-Semitic people with 1,538 offenses

reported by the law enforcement. If the Jewish community is being targeted by people who

discriminate them, then how are the results bias. The religious bias is the main problem that

affects the hate crime that is being started in the United States. Many of the perpetrators who are

caught, claim that they are not racist, or bigots towards the groups they attack. Instead they are

targeted as people who commit a felony crime, but they can be untroubled individuals.

The data of hate crime has become more deeply flawed, as certain data results show that

the FBI has reported more crime in the United States. As the FBI claims, that hate crime is being

influenced there is insufficient data to back it up. Most of the analytical data have been

influenced by falsely published news companies or television. As it impacts the incorrect facts

that are given to the American citizens, in which they believe that hate crime is not a threat to

society. The resources show that Muslims are the most targeted by hate crime activists. There is

a case on why Muslims are being attacked, because many Muslims are objectified by the

American culture as they are personified in being dangerous. States that have problems with the

most hate crime is California, Texas, and Florida due to their sizeable population. Although,

Florida does not have a large population, the state itself reveals the number of reported hate

crimes. As hate crime brings a large group of hate in the American society it also brings injustice

to these three categories. As the American society does not want to get caught up with the
Jeune 4

environment that gets treated with the use of hate crime. As other countries put a halt on hate

crime and focus on it to be illegal.

The results can be false, but there are statistics that prove the articles percentages on the

hate crimes can be skewed. The percentages from the Washington Post and NPR are different

from each other, since their results do not equal. As the Washington Post outlines that the Anti-

Semitism was 55% in which it spurred up from the previous year. As NPR reports that 59% were

towards both Muslims and Jewish people. Although NPR categorized religion in the same group,

rather than the Washington Post using its data only for the Anti-Semitism. Americans are

nervous of other group, as they attack the other ethnic and religious groups. As a result, this can

be false because many Americans are not as harmful as other countries. Other citizens hinder

away from the United States, as they believe the hate crime that happens within the country.

Americans fear for many reasons, but they are not known as assimilating hate crime towards the

classifications towards race, gender, and religion. With the hate crime that happens in the United

States, it makes more interesting to bring a debate with the other news articles as they can

provide incorrect information. The incorrect sources that are provided lead to false information

that get news companies startled about the results they provide. For an example Fox News

provides false information about Hate Crime that usually occurs in America. This brings a debate

with CNN, MSNBC, and NPR about the false information that Fox News consumes.
