Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselors work inside the school
system and maintain a caseload of 4-6 clients. Our counselors work school hours year long and are given partial cell-phone reimbursement. They are responsible for addressing the day to day concerns, issues and needs of their school/work site and the clients therein.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilizes good communication skills with clients, families, co- workers and referents through a non-judgmental approach, effective listening, good eye contact, and positive interactions. Establishes and maintains good rapport and working relationships to active referents, prospective referents, collateral contacts and community agencies.
Develops 30-day assessments and progress reports, individualized
service plans, quarterly service plans and progress report reviews, and reports to community funding sources. Provides weekly individual & family counseling, and case management & service coordination, including documentation of each. Writes and submits weekly and monthly progress notes in accordance with program policies. Maintains high quality documentation of all case work, completed in a timely manner and consistent with outlined program policies and licensure requirements.
Coordinates closely with other staff and community partners to
ensure the appropriateness of treatment modalities and services being provided. Develops and implements plans for discharge. Serve as clinical liaison to referral sources and parents regarding progress and needs; including attendance of FAPT meetings and court hearings as necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a Bachelors degree in the human services field with one year clinical experience working with children or adolescents or a Bachelors degree in an unrelated field with an Associates in human services field and three years clinical experience.
Current Drivers License with favorable driving record required (no
