Lesson Schedule

Targeted teacher language: good morning/ afternoon boys and girls, listen please, look at this one,
excellent...

Student language: good morning/ afternoon teacher, circle, tringle, hexagonal, etc.

Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge): time:

I will present some words of shapes in the board, and ask from the students to guess what is 10 mins.
this shape and draw it in their small board. For example, I will present square, and I will ask
them (can you draw square in your board, then show me), and the same things for other
shapes.

Also, I will ask them some questions such as, (how many sides in this shape? Is it having
equal sides?) etc.

Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):

Now, I will ask them what Venn diagram? Then, I will explain how to use it (different, similar, different), 25 mins.
and how to compare between the shapes through draw it in the board. Also, I will draw the shapes and put
them in the right place.

After that, I will give them 2 different activity (activity 1 for group 1&2, activity 2 for group 3&4), then I will
switch the activities (activity 1 for group 3&4, activity 2 for group 1&2).

Activity 1) Three sheets has Venn diagram, and I will give them a shape. They will put these shapes in the
right place on Venn diagram.
Activity 2) In their small board, they draw Venn diagram. Then, each student with their partners will draw
the shapes in their backs, and they will guess what this shape and draw it in the right place on Venn
diagram.

Close (wrap up, discussion, brief review activity or assessment):

In the end of class, I will present a lot of shapes in the board, and ask students some questions to see if 5 mins.
they understand the lesson or not. For example:

1. I have 4 equal sides, guess me.

2. I have 4 corners. The side are not all equal.
3. I have no corner.
4. I have 6 sides, who am I?
5. Show me circle.
6. Show me tringle.
7. Where is rectangle.
8. I have 5 straight sides. I have 5 corners. Who am I?

If they give me the right answer, I will give them a gift and ask from them to set in their tables.
