Combinations for Alpayu or Short Life in Vedic

Before looking at some unique combinations of planets in a
horoscope for short life in Vedic astrology lets look at the different
types of lifespans that have been mentioned in the ancient classic
works. Based on these scriptures an individual can fall into four
categories of life span depending on his/her planetary
configurations in the horoscope.

These 4 categories are

Balarishtha 0-8 years

Alpayu 8-32 years
Madhyayu 33-75 years
Purnayu 75-100 Years
So based on the above classification we can consider the 1st two,
that is Balarishtha and Alpayu when assessing the chart for short
life in Vedic astrology. Below are mentioned different combinations
that cause the same.
Combinations for Balarishtha or
Infant Mortality (Death before
8 years of age)
1. The Moon in the 8th house, Mars in the 7th and Rahu in the 9th
can cause an early death of the child.

2. Situation of the Moon in an angle with malefics.

3.The Moon in the ascendant, Mars in the 8th, Sun in the 9th and
Saturn in the 12th.

4.The Sun in the Ascendant with Saturn and Rahu and Mars in the
8th may cause early death for the child.

5.The Ascendant and the 8th from the Moons Sign being aspected
by malefics.

But if in a horoscope if the planets Jupiter,Venus and Mercury are

well placed then all kind of
Balarishtha will be nullified and the child will enjoy a greater
longevity.

Combinations for Short Life

There are several unique planetary combinations given in the
ancient classic books of Vedic Astrology which indicate that the
Jataka or the owner of the horoscope may be short lived. Although
at times these combinations may not show pin point accuracy in
predicting the exact longevity of the individual due to the other
planetary configurations, these guidelines definitely help us in
classifiying the lifespan as Alpayu (which is less than 35 years of
age).

If
the Lagna lord is exalted but not aspected by any benefic
planet and Saturn occupies Sagittarius or Pisces Navamsa,
the term of life is 19 years.
When the Moon occupies the 6th or the 8th from Lagna and
malefic planets in Kendras do not receive any benefic aspects
death comes in the 20th year.
 If
Mars and Jupiter are in Lagna and the Moon is in the 7th
while the 8th house is occupied by a planet benefic or
malefic the life-span is 22 years.
If
Lagna lord is in Lagna, the 8th lord is in the 9th and the
planet in the 8th is aspected by a malefic24 years.
If
the 8th and 12th lords are devoid of strength and Saturn
occupies Lagna in a common sign, death occurs at 25 years.
IfMars is in Lagna and the Sun and Saturn occupy quadrants,
life ends at 20 years.
If
the 8th lord from Lagna or the Moon be in the 12th or a
Kendra the native lives for 28 years.
If
Saturn occupies the Lagna in an inimical sign and benefics
are in the 3rd, 6th, 9th or 12th 26 or 27 years.
When the Sun, the Moon and Saturn conjoin in the 8th house,
the native lives for 29 years.
When the 8th lord is in a Kendra and the Lagna lord is weak,
the native lives for 32 years.
If
Mercury in strength occupies a Kendra and the 8th house
be free of occupation by any planet, the native dies in his
30th year.
If
the Lagna lord and the Moon be weak and occupy
Apoklimas (the 3rd, the 6th, the 9th, the 12th) and be
aspected by malefics, the native lives for 32 years.
If
the Lagna be occupied by the Sun and be hemmed on
either side by malefics, the native lives up to 31 years.
When there are no benefics in Kendras and the 8th house is
occupied by a planet, the native lives for 30 years.
When the 8th lord being Saturn or a malefic in conjunction
with another malefic planet occupies an evil Shashtyamsa, it
shows short life.
Whenthe Lagna is occupied by malefics and the Moon also is
with malefics with no benefic aspects, Alpayu results.
Exact longevity mentioned in the above cases may not turn out to
be accurate in all the cases. They might extend for an extra 5 to
10 years in very few cases. However all these can be classified as
an Alpayu or Short Life.(Even if they extend another 5-10
years than the age mentioned above)
