1- INTRODUCTION
The TV Series Hawaii Five-O is the police procedural drama series located at Hawaii.
This Tv Series show the daily routine of a police team staffed by Commander Steve Mc
Garret, Detective Sergeant Danial Williams, Detective Lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly, Officer
Kono Kalakaua, Dr Max Bergman and Captain Lou Grover. They who are the team that
always responsible to ensure Hawaii Island save from any criminal issue. Every episode
show how they handle and solve every case that treated the safety of Hawaii Island
population where sometime put their life in danger.

2- ELEMENTS AND THEORIES OF COMMUNICATION

2-1 HAWAII FIVE-O EPISODE 9

A conspiracy theorist and a friend of Jerry's is murdered after having discovered new
information about the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the mystery behind it, that
tells that JFK's cabinet had planned the assassination. Five-0 soon discover that there
were more people behind the assassination than first thought. This later leads to Jerry
telling the story of the Honolulu conference that took place on November 20, 1963.
Meanwhile, Lou begins to have doubts about his son Will dating Danny's daughter
Grace.
2-1-1 Lou begins to have doubts about his son Will dating Danny's daughter Grace
To begin the conversation, Lou starts by making appointments with Danny. He
said Well, I think we should kind of have a little chat. From this conversation
have included interpersonal communication which is positive and negative.
Danny always thinks positive both of the son while Lou is thinking negative. The
situation shows when Danny said everything, Lou always bad think and defend
herself. The intonation of Lou also loud. There are have facial expressions like
unamused faced show when are discussing. Ending the discussions when get
called from Macgaret and Lou said be continued...

2-1-2 There is no communication between Five-O and FBI about handling the case.
Danny are disagreeing the action taken by FBI, agent Ward. He uses the tone
like sarcasm when he said, no the victim was, uh not a federal employee
Replied by Agent Ward is I`m not sure why you think, I`m obliged. Danny makes
a one to one communication to Macgaret to control his angry. Danny considers
as a professional etiquette because in the worst situation, he still can handle
Macgaret emotions. The body language like hold the shoulder Macgaret and the
word from Danny show he tries to calm down.
 2-1-3 The followed guys, Drake meeting with Chin and Jerry
Drake was followed the Chin and Jerry from beginning. Chin realized has person
followed her and try to catch. Then Drake making appointments with left the
note, 4.30 come alone. The communication are happen face to face. Have the
phatic communication like Drake tell the clue that the tape was recorded all of
the conversations cabinet and Kamele was supposed to hand off the tape of
someone else. The bad news is he doesnt know the contents of the tape since
he is provided surveillance and didnt not handle and analysis. Jerry`s eye
contact can show he focus on what Drake said.

The scene chosen from this episode which is when Detective Danial and Captain Lou
found the burn dead body of their criminal suspect that kidnap Sara. In order to proof that
dead body belong to their criminal suspect, Dr Max help them to have the picture of the
tattoo from the burn dead body.
2-2-1 Praising and Congratulating
In the early of the conversation, Dr Max have said Congratulation both of you
that show Dr Max congratulated and appreciated Detective Danial and Captain
Lou of their effort to find their criminal suspect base on the tattoo in their data
base.

2-2-2 Form of Communication

Along the scene Dr Max, Detective Danial and Captain Lou having a group
discussion through phone by using video conference. The video conference
through phone and computer are used as a channel in order to deliver all the
information including the information of the burn dead body and also the
information on the procedure to get the picture of the tattoo from the burn dead
body.

2-2-3 Problem Solving Skill

When Dr Max tell the procedure to get the tattoo picture from the burn dead body,
Detective Danial and Captain Lou started to argue between both of them on who
need to do the procedure. This situation show that both of them are not familiar to
the situation where they need to touch the dead body and make them to feel
uncomfortable. Finally their argumentation end when Dr Max tell them that they
need to do the procedure together. Dr Max help them to solve their
argumentation and at the end they cooperate and do the procedure together.

Synopsis Of The Video Excerpt

Season 7 begins with the body of a serial killer being found in Five-0 headquarters with an
ivory chess piece in his mouth. When a second serial killer is found dead with another chess
piece, Five-0 hunts for the vigilante as fear spreads that it's not safe to travel to Hawaii.
Meanwhile, Steve McGarrett refuses to take it easy, even though he is recovering from
surgery.

Upon this situation, Governor Keiko Mahoe, however, had been beyond mortified when a
new serial killer was found. She had said that there was a vigilante out there that was doing
a better job than her own police so shed asked Five-0 to get their act together. The Governor
couldnt afford to quarantine the island until this killer as well as possibly many other killers
was found so she asked McGarrett to do for her what he did for the Governor before her.
Though, McGarrett had tried to defend himself and his unit.

Elements and Forms of Communication

The discussion between Commander Steve McGarrett and the Governor shows the
dialogue communication between them. It is includes the Form of Communication from
the facial expression when the Governor asking, What the hell is going on here
Commander?, she shows a rather fierce expressions when asking to the Commander. Her
tones also slightly elevated when she saidWere Larsen and Hein working together?. She
also shows the eye contact like always looked sharply toward the commander as they
talked.

Language Forms of Communications & Interpersonal Communication

The Governor initiated the conversation in a serious condition in which she tried to seeking
clarification from the Commander when she asking, You said you found photos on
Larsens phone, tell me about those. From the situations, it shows the one to one
interpersonal communication. She did not closing the conversation wisely when she
giving an orders to Commanders by standing in front of him and show a strained facial
expressions and tone of voice. So, before I bankrupt this place and put the fear of God in
our locals, do for me what you did for Governor Denning and make problem like this go
away. It is a stressful situation for Commander to handle with.

Considerations for Professional Interaction.

During the conversation, the Commander always shown poise and not easily curl up when
he often pushed by the Governor. He also respecting and acknowledging position of the
Governor as a someone who has a hierarchical power and status. Even when the Governor
pat the table and staring up at him sharply, he shows his professional attitudes as a
commander.
3- CONCLUSION
In the work environment almost everybody within the workplace is likely to be a member
of one or more teams. Efficient team-working can transform the workplace. It can help
create clear open channels of communication, improve productivity, help keep morale
high and provide individuals with a sense of identity and purpose.
