David is married with four children and six grandchildren. He enjoys scuba

Philip Burchard
Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations
Before joining AstraZeneca, Philip worked for Hoechst and later Aventis in a
succession of sales and marketing roles, starting as a sales representative in
Chicago. He then held increasingly senior roles including country head in
Finland and Indonesia, Business Unit Director in Germany and Commercial
Director in Europe.
Bruno Angelici

America, Middle East and Africa
Bruno Angelici has served in his current role since 2001.
Prior to his present role Bruno served as President of AZ Japan and was responsible
for the merger between Astra and Zeneca Japan.
His early career was spent in the food industry before joining Baxter Healthcare in
1978 as assistant to the Vice President International in the US. In 1984 he became
Managing Director for Baxter in France.
Born in France, Bruno holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management,
Chicago.
Ruud lives in Singapore with his wife Paula and their 2 children.

James lives in Brussels with his wife Julia and their three sons.
Tony Zook
Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations
Tony Zook has responsibility for our worldwide Sales and Marketing activities,
including Global Marketing. The new Global Commercial organisation, under
Tony’s leadership, facilitates the sharing of experience across markets –
driving alignment and synergies where relevant - and underpins the delivery
of a single, global commercial strategy.
Prior to this role, Tony Zook directed AstraZeneca’s largest market, the United
States and Canada, and headed AstraZeneca’s Global Marketing function, in
addition to responsibilities as the interim President of MedImmune.
Tony joined Astra USA in 1997 as Vice President-Marketing and Sales, two
years before the merger of Astra AB and Zeneca Group Plc in 1999. Prior to
becoming President and CEO for AstraZeneca’s US Business in 2006, Tony
was Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations responsible for leading
the company’s marketing and sales organisations in the United States. He
has also held various other positions in AstraZeneca’s sales and marketing
organisation.
Xudong lives in Shanghai, China with his wife and two daughters.
Rubens Pedrosa
President, AstraZeneca Brazil
Rubens currently serves as the President of AstraZeneca’s business in Brazil.
He has worked in various managerial positions in diverse functions within the
pharmaceutical business. His experience includes work in technical
operations, marketing, sales as well as general administration.
Rubens lives in São Paulo with his wife and two daughters.
Maged Gobran
Area Vice President MENA - AstraZeneca
Maged Gobran was appointed Area Vice President for Middle East and North Africa in
2006. He joined AstraZeneca in September 2004, as Area Vice President for North
Africa.
Maged has a long career in the pharmaceutical industry in the Middle East, Europe
and the US. He started his career in 1980 and in his early career he spent 3 years as a
sales representative in Egypt and in New York City. He spent 5 years working in
healthcare advertising with Bozell in New York, where he led the agency team that
launched 2 major products in the US market for Glaxo and Abbott Laboratories as
clients.
Maged came back to the Middle East in 1995 as Director of Operations Planning for
Bristol Myers Squibb. In 1997, he joined GlaxoWellcome as Managing Director for
Saudi Arabia. In 2001, he was appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of
GlaxoSmithKline in Egypt.
Maged has a B.S. in Pharmacy is from Cairo University and MBA from Fordham
University in New York.
Jerzy Garlicki is a qualified physician. He has also received an MBA from the
University of Warsaw and the University of Illinois.
Ricardo started his career in sales and product planning at MSD Mexico in 1975. In
October 1996 he joined GRUMA Corporation as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. In
August 1998, Ricardo was appointed as C.E.O Gruma Mexico & Central America,
becoming responsible for all of GRUMA’s domestic operations and was elected
Chairman of the Board & C.E.O. for the Groups largest operation; Grupo Industrial
Maseca.
Along with his professional activities, Ricardo was appointed by The Secretary of
State for Health as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the National Cancer
Institute of Mexico.
