General hints
Installation of the HMV-02 motor must be completed according to the information contained in the circuit
and piping diagram, operating instruction, technical data sheet and installation drawing. Fill with oil and
vent motor housing before start-up.
- Type of oil, see technical data sheet.
- Max. permissible housing temperature 90 [C]
- Permissible housing pressure 2,5 [bar] (absolut).
11.10 Variable Displacement Motor HMV 105-02 with two position hydraulic control H2. 4
General description
This variable displacement motor HMV 105-02 is a swash-plate axial piston motor for open loop operation.
The flow of oil coming from the directional control valve is delivered to the high-pressure connection A/B
of the hydraulic motor. The pressure fluid passes through the port in the port plate housing and the cylinder
block on to the end face of the piston, displacing it and setting the hydraulic motor in rotary motion.
The direction of rotation, to left (CCW) or right (CW), is determined by whether the pressure oil is admitted
into "A" or "B" port.
The motor is equipped with a two position hydraulic displacement control H2 and high pressure relief
valves VD20-04. Those secondary valves (cross line relief valves) protect the system from pressure over-
load by using two interlinked pressure relief valves (combined with check valves).
The HMV 105-02 H2 is equipped with a customer counter balance valve, not described in this document.
It is always required in open loop systems to use an counter balance valve to prevent the hydraulic motor
over speeding during an over-run situation.

Filtration
In order to ensure functionality of the hydraulic components and their high efficiency, it is necessary to
select the purity class of the working fluid 18/ 16/ 13 or better, according to ISO 4406.
A high degree of oil purity clearly contributes to prolonging the life expectancy of the hydraulic system.
With modern filtration technology, however, much better values can be achieved which contributes
significantly to extending the life and durability of the complete hydraulic system: Pumps, Motors and
valves.
Recommended working viscosity range 10 - 80 [mm/S].
The Linde hydraulic system must not be operated in viscosity range < 10 [mm/s]!
