The reason for developing this learning experience is due to an
observation I had. I saw from my observation that a child
enjoyed manipulating and exploring different objects. From
here, I decided to implement an activity that involves motor
skills with bean bags.

- There was a child that decided to play with small plastic
transparent ball with beads inside.
- He would throw the ball to hear the sound it made
when it hit the ground.
- The child would also throw the ball to see what
happens to the beads when the ball landed on the
ground.
- The child did this multiple times until he had to get his
diaper changed.

involving bean bags. The activity will be open-ended, as they
can decide how they want to play with the bean bags. They
can throw them and do bean bag toss they can also balance
them on their head, along with simply squeezing them in their
hands, and etc.
Objectives:
1. Further development of 5.1 Gross Motor of releasing
objects will take place by the children having the
opportunity to drop and throw the bean bags on the
floor, when doing bean bag toss.
2. Enhancement of 5.1 Gross Motor for coordination will
occur since the children will be given the chance to try
to balance a bean bag on their head.
3. The children will improve 5.2 Fine Motor through their
palmer/pincer grasp depending on how they decide to
hold and lift/pick up the bean bags.

children to gain ideas of how to play with the bean bags
and will encourage them further to try new ways of
manipulating the bean bags and challenging
themselves, by trying to imitate my actions with the
bean bags.

I have chosen these teaching strategies because they will help

me to implement the activity and encourage the children to
participate and grasp the intent of the activity.
