Over a 100 politicians have signed a petition to encourage the FA to donate unsold tickets to
school children Grimsby MP, Melanie Onn emailed us to say this, Football is our national
game, and the 28,000 empty seats at Wembley represent 28,000 missed opportunities to
inspire the next generation of football players and supporters. If children were given that
chance to see England play at Wembley, I also think it would lead to more of them going to see
their local club play, helping support those clubs that rely heavily on gate receipts. Previously,
the Labour MP has come out and defended football fans and supporters when Grimsby Town
played Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium. Onn stated that she will write the Sports Minister
about the overzealous treatment of Grimsby Town fans at Stevenage.

England cricket player Ben Stokes was recently caught in a street brawl on CCTV outside of a
Bristol nightclub. Stokes is now facing a suspension and will likely miss the ashes after
previously being named the squad's vice-captain. After he was arrested, two men claimed that
the cricketer defended them from a homophobic attack and therefore the punishment should be
dissolved. Fellow England players have come out in defence of Ben Stokes hoping that this
does not negatively change his career.

Jon Jones,one of the most spoke after UFC fighter has been accused of doing for his fight
against Daniel Cormier. Jon Jones has been accused of doping before .He has been caught
with drugs before and last year he received a 1 year ban for taking illegal drugs. It seems that
he is doping and taking these drugs to gain an advantage to win the fight. In the UFC
community, this is being taken seriously and people that support Jon will maybe change their
mind because of his actions.

The Barca frontman Lionel Messi has single handedly carried Argentina to the World Cup on
Wednesday... after a sensational hat-trick against Ecuador in a 3-1 win for his nation. Ecuador
scored first in a quick fire start with a goal from from Ibarra. However Messi hit back quickly in
the 12th minute tapping in a low cross from teammate Angel Di Maria. 8 minutes later the Barca
frontman scored with a rocket of a strike into the top left corner of the net. Halfway into the
second half the hat trick was completed with a fantastic solo run and finish. The South
Americans rocketed from 6th in the group to the automatic qualification places in a night they
wont forget for a long time.
The swiss sensation, Roger Federer has won the Shanghai Masters title. He beat Nadal 6-4 and
6-3. With this win he breaks Nadals 16 win streak. Federer then retains his #1 spot in the world.
For Federer this is his 5 title of the year to close the gap between them both at the top of the
rankings. Over the years,there has been a tight battle between these two veterans and Federer
has come out on top. Winning himself a big trophy and a hefty chunk of money. In fact, Federer
bagged himself over 8 million dollars which translates to 6 million pounds. Given that this is his
5th win of the year, he has made his fans and his family proud.

Chelsea goalkeeper and Belgian international Thibaut Courtois is yet to sign a new contract with
the blues and there is speculation coming from a report in Spain that there is a possibility of a
transfer to Real Madrid. The 25 year old is Chelseas no.1 goalkeeper and a transfer to Los
Blancos would be damaging to Chelsea as he is known as one of the best goalkeepers in the
league. Also, if this transfer occurs, it will mean that Courtois is signing for the rivals of the club
he played 111 times for on loan from 2011-2014.

Andy Murray will compete in the much anticipated Australian Open in January after a hip
injury that forced him to limp out of the Wimbledon quarter finals in the summer against Sam
Querrey. It has come to a surprise after Andys mother, Judy said no timescale for his return.
Murray will be hoping to carry on his good form that he carried throughout the 2016 season. The
British number 1 will be appearing alongside the major names of Tennis, including Serena
Williams who recently gave birth to her newborn, baby girl, Alexis on Friday, September 1st
