Jasmine works twice as long as Candace and although her expenses are
less, she still cannot make ends meet on her meagre $0.21 cents per hour.

Although Candace is fortunate to have a full-time retail job (as most retail
positions are part-time), she does not receive benefits and is unable to
afford to buy a home. Her small clothing allowance of $25/month does not
make it easy for her to afford to buy clothing outside the realm of fast
fashion. Candace has no choice but to continue buying the discounted t-
shirts that she sells and that Jasmine makes in Bangladesh.
