Hello Everyone!

Hereare 3 of the questions that will be on the midterm. Please know that this is not about getting
a couple of extra points. It is about learning to study better.

For those of you who would like to improve your studying skills, I encourage you to do the
following exercise and to do it to the letter. Those of you who will, will become better students
not just in my course but in all of your other courses. Here are the steps:

a) At this point, DO NOT read, or even look at the questions. NOTEVEN A PEAK!For now,
pretendthey arenot there.

b) For the first question (DO NOT LOOK AT IT, YET):

Study the Dissociative Identity Disorders in the book. Study this section the way you
USUALLY study. This is important for the exercise to be beneficial: DO NOT PUT MORE
EFFORT into studying this section than usual.

c) Once you are done studying, go ahead read and answer the first question
below. DO NOT consult the book while you are answering the question. Pretend you are in an
exam and the book is not available for consultation.

d) After you have answered the question, go back to the book and reread the DIDs section to
see if you have answered the question correctly.

e) If you have answered correctly without guessing, WELL DONE. GREAT JOB!

f) If you have guessed or answered incorrectly, that isGREAT! Now, you have the opportunity to
ask yourself the following questions: The answer to the question is right there staring me in the
face, why did I miss it? WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO IMRPOVE MY STUDYING SO THAT
IN THE FUTURE, I DO NOT MISS THE ANSWER to similar questions.

I encourage you to do the same exercise for questions 2 and 3.

For question 2: study first the Personality chapter the way you USUALLY study, then do the
exercise as outlined above. You can find the answer in the notes and book.

For question 3: Study first the Psychological Disorders chapter the way you USUALLY study and
then do the exercise outlined above. You can find the answer in the notes and book.
Please do not send me emails about these questions. You have all the information you need to
answer them, either in the book or in the notes and book.
Have fun studying

Dr. Haddad
