First District Municipality of Kawit

The Municipality of Kawit, Cavite is a 1st Class Municipality. It is the cradle of te Philippine
Independence. Its cultural heritage and unprecedented historical role in the Philippine History is
a unique treasure for Kawit. The Aguinaldo Shrine where the Philippine Independence was
proclaimed by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, still remained as the most hallowed historical site in the
country. Long before the coming of the Spaniards, Kawit was already a thriving settlement, and
when thw colonizers came, they called the settlement Cavite el Viejo. It is the oldest of the three
perishes established during the administration of Manila Archbishop Garcia Serrano (1618-1629).
The town got its name maybe based on the hook-shaped shoreline from Manila to Sangley Point,
Cavite City. The Filipino term for the work Hook is Kawit.

Tourist Destination Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine

It was in this Aguinaldo ancestral home where Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed
Philippine Independence from Spain on June 12, 1898. It was also here where the Philippine flag
hoisted for the first time, and the Philippine National Anthem composed by Julian Felipe was
played by Banda Malabon. And by the virtue of Republic Act No. 4039 dated June 18, 1964 issued
by the President Diosdado Macapagal, the Aguinaldo Mansion was declared national shrine.
Second District City of Bacoor

The name Bacood (derived from the Tagalog word bakod, meaning fence) is suggestive
of its role as a suburb of Paranaque (known before as Palanyag) constituting the boundary
between the mother town of Cavite El Viejo (now known as Kawit) and Silang. In early times
during the Spanish regime, Bacood was thickly covered with bamboo groves that ran from Zapote
to Sitio Talaba. The term Bakood also refers to those who lived in the place who were called
such by the early Tagalog settlers. Bacoor was founded in 1671 with a population of 10,165.

Tourust Destination Bahay na Tisa

The First Malacanang of the Republic of the Philippines. This is the residence of Juan
Cuenca and Candida Chaves, popularly known as Bahay na Tisa, where Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo
stayed for three months which served as headquarters of the revolutionary government.
Everything that happened in Bahay na Tisa and in Bacoor in general was believed to have
contributed to the events that transpired in the Malolos Convention, indeed, a historical treasure
of Bacoor.
Fifth District Municipality of Silang

Silang covers 15,641 hectares that is broadly classified into agricultural and built up
areas. The municipality is divided into 64 barangays of which 5 are urban and 59 are rural. Silang
is believed to be the second oldest town in Cavite and was founded in 1571. The name Silang
was derived from Tagalog word Silanganan. Some said it came from isinilang because of the
sudden existence of a church at the center of the town. On March 26, 1997, Finance Department
Order No. 24-97 classified Silang as a First Class Municipality.

Tourist Destination Cabag Cave

Lucsuhin Natural Bridge, locally called Cabag Cave, is a natural bridge located between
Brgy. Lucsuhin and Brgy. Kalubkob in Silang, Cavite. The place is found at the bottom of a slope
which runs down a steep angle to a brook. Lush greenery surrounds this little valley where Cabag
Cave is found. Inside the cave, an underground river runs for about 50 meters inwards. A pool of
water is formed immediately off the mouth of the cave leading to the river.
Sixth District Trece Martires City

Trece Martires City is the seat of the Provincial Government of Cavite. It is considered as
one of the fast growing local economy in Cavite with an average local revenue growth rate of 29%
from 2012 to 2014. This was the largest, most remote and one of the oldest barrios of Tanza,
Cavite. The city was named in the honor of Thirteen (13) martyrs of Cavite, who were sentenced
to death during the Spanish regime. Trece Martires City was created through the enactment of
Republic Act 981 on May 24, 1954. Under the city charter, the Governor of Cavite will serve as
Ex Officio City Mayor of the City. Trece Martires City was inaugurated as Provincial Capitol in
January 1, 1956 on the same day Governor Delfin Montano was sworn into office as Cavite
Provincial Governor and Trece Martires City Ex Officio City Mayor.

Tourist Destination Thirteen Martyrs Monument

The Thirteen Martyrs of Cavite were Filipino patriots in Cavite, Philippines who were
executed by musketry on September 12, 1896, for cooperating with the Katipunan during the
Philippine Revolution against Spain. The city of Trece Martires in Cavite is named after them.
Each of its 13 barangays were named for each of the martyrs. On May 24, 2004, a new monument
to the thirteen patriots were inaugurated in Trece Martires City near the City Hall.
