1.1. A Real-life Problem In The Local Community
Sharifah Trading is the station for health and beauty, that unifies
almost 5,000 products from various brands and products under one roof of
SHARIFAH TRADING. Some of the brands that Sharifah Trading have are
Dherbs, VAsia, Almas and etc.
Sharifah Trading operates at the Summer Shopping Mall (G15, Ground
Floor, Zone B) Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. Sharifah Trading is located in
Kuching, Sarawak. The company is known for using a unique concept of
Islam that is applied from the beginning of its' opening. Sarawak is a multi-
ethnic state and therefore have many different beliefs or religion such as
Islam, Christianity, Buddhist and many ethnic- related beliefs. Hence, they
have different and varied approach to ointments, supplements and
medications.

The problem that Sharifah Trading has is many people do not notice
where their store location is. This is because it us located not in the main area
and quite away from the popular customers' route. Besides , their shop in Kota
Samarahan should have a facelift since the colour and decoration is quite off
the season and quite old. They should also try new concepts in rearranging
their products sepecially the ones for display purposes.This is because the
shop becomes crowded when there is an influx of customers at one time.
Furthermore, their products need to be sorted and arranged according to their
types such as cosmetics, supplements and health

Based on reviews that can be viewed in the Company's significant Sharifah Trading
was previously the company only provides methods of procurement system to face the
customers need to come to the store to make a purchase Sharifah Trading. Thus, the company
has renewed its methods Sharifah Trading purchasing system easier and faster with the
system of the latest technology that is set up online purchasing system. This is because the
method of online purchases easier for customers to make purchases and make choices
without wasting time to come to their store. In addition, the method of online purchases can

technology. Erply allow the retailer to focus more on business and less use IT, by providing
solution it easy to use, cost effective and technology superior. It also can use for business
reporting, billing and custom barcode. This software also can register the inventory just key
in the brand of the product, quantity of product. So, easy for customers search what product
they want through this software.

The module helps the Sharifah Trading to balance between overstock and outstanding stock,
helping to maintain a lower inventory carry costs. Warehouse transaction like sales,
purchases transfer and adjustment easy can monitor without hassle. Sharifah Trading can
have unlimited manufactures and vendors for each items, analysis their stocks performance,
track item and status by item, department and so on.

 4. Process Of Activities For Completing This Project

4.1 Brainstorming
Our group have made a discussion through face to face and contact through
electronic devices to identify a real-life problem within a local community in both East
and West Malaysia. Every each of us have contribute our own idea until all of us can
decide to choose which one is the best problem to be solve. We have agree to choose the
problem based on the observation that have been done by our group member about the
problem that have been face by Sharifah Trading which located in Summer Mall,
Samarahan.

4.2 Problem identification

Based on the observation, we have found that the company which is Sharifah
Trading still using a traditional method on their inventory system. We are choosing this
particular problem regarding to disadvantage of using this manual method which is
mistakes occur in long calculation, lack of efficiency, editing of data becomes a tedious
job and many more. As the growing trend in technologies, others parties has made the
solution to overcome this problem that must be solve with a least amount of time and
energy. Thus, we have to find a tools to recommend to Sharifah Trading to improve their
inventory system to be more efficient and effective.

4.3 Information gathering

In information gathering we have made an observation on that particular company
and their still using a manual method to key in stock data. Nur Afifah and Fatin Shahirah
has made a research to find a solution which is tools that can improve the company
inventory system using the information that has given by the internet . Based on the
result of research that have done by Nur Afifah and Fatin Shahirah, there is a few
inventory system that have been found an all of us have made a discussion to pick best
ICT tools to be recommend to the company.

4.4 Proposed Solution

As for the solution, we have decided to choose SellerCloud, Erply and Wincom to be
as our recommended ICT tools to Sharifah Trading regarding to their inventory system.
