1.1 Preface
The preliminary report issued in April, 1949, had discarded 341, ..of 375 reports which had been investigated
......Of the remaining 34 case histories concerned with flying saucers the Air Force officers could find no

1.2 Introduction:

1.6 The evaluation of Newtons story
- On April 25, 1951, Cahn told the FBI quote, to

determine Newton is violating Federal Statutes in
claiming to be engaged in government research of
a secret nature or in the perpetration of a hoax of
large proportion. 7
- On July 2, 1951, Newton wrote a letter to Scully,
quote, Cahn begged our Mr. Stringer of the
refining company to get me(Newton) to admit
that I had told you(Scully) and told you(Sully) it
was a hoax, but you played it straight...Your
story has been told. Great good has come from it,
and nothing the Chronicle can do to change it. 8

Dr. Robert I. Sarbacher, a consultant of U.S governments Research and
Development Board, The facts reported in the (Scullys) book are
substantially correct.
William B. Steinman, technician in aerospace industry, The facts
reported in the (Scullys) book ae substantially correct.
Karl T. Pflock, (1943-2006) former CIA offices, Silas Newton and
Leo GeBauer were known con men; therefore, the Aztec crash
story must gave been a con.(2002)
1.9 Disbelievers
Debunkers: According to Thayer, (2016, p.139-140), claimed the debunkers such as The
Skeptical Inquirer discredited the story by stating that, Because this incident cannot have
happened, it must be explained by one of the following. If information cannot be called
into question, it must be ignored.
Skeptics:
Skeptics such as Monte Shriver argued about the details that there were no blockade on
the Heart Canyon road from Aztec to Durango. Meanwhile, Ramsey supported him and
said the interviewer said they can ride on that road. 23 Shriver detailed that there were no
inspection to the witnesses after they were interviewed by the air force. Stanton Friedman
supported Shriver and said late evidence is acceptable. 24

2.0 Conclusion
A. Is it a hoax?
The government discredit the Aztec UFO
incident by accusing Silas Newton & Leo
GeBauer. However, the government failed to
stop the story get published.
B. Is it some kind of Soviet secret weapons?
B. It is some Soviet secret weapon?
According to the CIA, (2008, no page given),the
CIA study group met the Air Force " The Air Force
rejected the theories that the sightings involved
US or Soviet secret weapons development or that
they involved "men from Mars";
The FBI still has 100-plus pages on Silas Newton and is still not releasable, (FBI File number 100-383029)
