Why is the future being questioned ?

In this age of global digitalisation, where every

possible technology is evolving and reaching its zenith then why not our own personal
safety and identity , why not a sufficiently advanced form of identification that could
compete or even outdo other countries. An item that has already saved our country $9
billion through preventing fraud and black money.Any sufficiently advanced form of
technology is always looked at through a cynical eye.The point is that, whether we like it or
not, were entering a world where there is going to be massive data generation due to a
whole lot of technological advances. But to say that because of Aadhaar privacy is gone, as
if theres nothing else happening on the planet, is, I think, a bit disingenuous. So the
smartphone itself is a huge risk from a privacy point of view. When you use the internet,
other people are reading your emails and parsing your emails to figure out what your
interests are. Today, we have a proliferation of CCTV cameras in malls, ATMs, hotels, bars,
and everywhere, all of which are recording your behaviour, your activities. When the drones
come, theyll be flying around, peeping in your bedrooms. And when you get the internet of
things, youll have hundreds of sensors all over the place collecting data. We have to reduce
tax evasion and using aadhar to remove duplicate PANs is a very apt way of doing that.

But we need to look at other perspectives, the poor , the needy , the abundance of those in
India, The aadhar card is designed to help those people ,it is designed to help put a notch in
breaking the poverty cycle.

Move to points.

Aadhaar based Direct Benefit Transfer (LPG Subsidy): The 12 digit

individual identification number on Aadhar card is used to get
LPG subsidy amount directly in the bank account. This DBTL
scheme is named as PAHAL. To get this benefit you need to visit
your areas distributor and get Aadhar number linked to the 17
digit LPG consumer number. Although now you can get direct
benefit transfer by linking bank account to the LPG number. Read
more about PAHAL scheme.
2. Jan Dhan Yojana: The guiness world record holder scheme Pradhan
Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) accepts Aadhaar card/number as the
only document sufficient to open the bank account. Although you open
PMJDY account after producing other documents as well. The benefits
offered are RuPay card, free zero balance savings account, life and
accident insurance and many others. Read more on how to open
PMJDY account with no valid documents.
3. The digi-locker system , the government has launched a system for every
person with an aadhar card to store their personal documents on the
government server.
4. The scams involving pensions will now be impossible as the monthly
pensions will be now be linked to their aadhar card.

Also major macroeconomic objectives can be evaluated and implemented by

the data received from these aadhar cards, For example if it is detected
that the the young growing population is in a large number , then the
government could direct more funds towards education and training in
order to make them better more productive workers in the future.

Answers to rebuttal questions:

Why should it be made mandatory ?

If we wish to get rid of duplicate PAN (Permanent Account

Number), You want to make sure that an individual has
only one PAN, (so) hence, you have to make it (Aadhaar)
mandatory. If you dont, half the people give their Aadhaar
numbers and half dont, the duplicates still remain, no?

The aadhar card can be easily faked, What about that?

Thats true of all documents. Every document in IndiaIf

you heard Mr (Nitin) Gadkaris statement that 30% of
drivers licences are fake. So, when a guy uses a drivers
licence to enter the airport, the same thing applies, right ?
that doesnt mean we shouldnt implement it , there will
always be fakes , but making a fake with a unique
fingerprint and biometrics makes it harder.

For all arguments about the Privacy situation;

From chapter 3 of the Aadhar act which was passed by the
lok sabha in march 2016.
