ChE/3 Assignment No. 1
The administration has continuing mandate to fight and eradicate graft and
corruption in the different departments, bureaus, offices and other government
agencies and instrumentalities, as well as an advocacy to ensure that public officials
and employees in all branches of government conduct themselves in a manner worthy
of the public trust.
Executive Order No. 43, signed by Duterte on October 4, states the Commission
is designed to assist the President in investigating and hearing administrative cases of
graft and corruption. The body, which is recommendatory, will submit its findings to the
President or refer the case to the Office of the Ombudsman, or deputize any committee,
commission, bureau, agency or department to conduct a fact-finding investigation.
2. Do you think this would urgently solve the problem of graft and corruption in the
country? Give your own opinion or sentiments about the matter.
This newly signed ordinance might be a great help but the effect might not that
be obvious in the early stage of implementation. Yes, it will be a great help on solving
problems in terms of graft and corruption since it will be easier to access life style
checks and other supporting fact-finding inquiries of appointees that they are
suspecting to be doing such illegal act. This ordinance might be and might not be a
great help since our government was so used to be this way for long enough time that
Im afraid it will not eradicate corrupts. But on the other hand, some might be
frightened since the Commission will have access even to the smallest details that they
might turn themselves or correct their doings that corrupts may lessen. After all, this is
a new ordinance; things may vary and will not go originally according to plant but lets
see.
