HARDWARE THREATS

Electrical Faults
In an electric power system, a fault or fault current is any abnormal electriccurrent. For example, a short circuit is a fault in
which current bypasses the normal load. An open-circuit fault occurs if a circuit is interrupted by some failure.

Rodents
Well-known rodents include mice, rats, squirrels, prairie dogs, porcupines, beavers, guinea pigs, hamsters, and
capybaras. Other animals such as rabbits, hares, and pikas were once included with them, but are now considered to be
in a separate order, the Lagomorpha.

Theft
In common usage, theft is the taking of another person's property or services without that person's permission or consent
with the intent to deprive the rightful owner of it.

SOFTWARE THREATS
A computer virus is a type of malicious software program ("malware") that, when executed, replicates by reproducing itself
(copying its own source code) or infecting other computer programs by modifying them. Infecting computer programs can
include as well, data files, or the "boot" sector of the hard drive.

Worms
A computer worm is a standalone malware computer program that replicates itself in order to spread to other computers.
Often, it uses a computer network to spread itself, relying on security failures on the target computer to access it. Unlike a
computer virus, it does not need to attach itself to an existing program.

Spyware
Spyware is a type of malware that is installed on a computer without the knowledge of the owner in order to collect the
owner's private information. Spyware is often hidden from the user in order to gather information about internet interaction,
keystrokes (also known as keylogging), passwords, and other valuable data.

Trojan
A Trojan horse or Trojan is a type of malware that is often disguised as legitimate software. Trojans can be employed by
cyber-thieves and hackers trying to gain access to users' systems. Users are typically tricked by some form of social
engineering into loading and executing Trojans on their systems.

Spam
Spam is a form of electronic junk mail sent en masse to users. While annoying in its own right, it can potentially be very
dangerous if part of a larger phishing scam. Phishing scams are a form of cybercrime that involves defrauding users by
acting as legitimate companies or organizations in order to obtain sensitive information such as passwords and login
credentials.

Adware
Adware is a type of free software supported by advertisements that show up in pop-up windows or on a toolbar on your
computer or browser. Most adware is annoying, but safe. But some is used to gather your personal information, track the
websites you visit or even record your keystrokes.

COMPUTER USERS
Repetitive
Something that is repetitive involves doing the same thing over and over again. If you get bored running on a treadmill
daily, you might try something less repetitive, like playing soccer outdoors. Anything you do repeatedly, especially when
it's boring, can be described using the adjective repetitive.
Strain
A strain is an injury to a muscle in which the muscle fibers tear as a result of overstretching. A strainis also colloquially
known as a pulled muscle or torn muscle. The equivalent injury to a ligament is a sprain.

Injury
An injury is damage to your body. It is a general term that refers to harm caused by accidents, falls, hits, weapons, and
more. In the U.S., millions of people injure themselves every year. These injuries range from minor to life-threatening

Eye Strain
Eye strain also known as asthenopia is an eye condition that manifests itself through nonspecific symptoms such
as fatigue, pain in or around the eyes, blurred vision, headache and occasional double vision. Symptoms often occur after
reading, computer work, or other close activities that involve tedious visual tasks.

Headache
Headache is the symptom of pain anywhere in the region of the head or neck. It occurs in migraines, tension-
type headaches, and cluster headaches. Frequent headaches can affect relationships and employment. There is also an
increased risk of depression in those with severe headaches.

Privacy

Accuracy is the proximity of measurement results to the true value; precision, the repeatability, or reproducibility of the
measurement. In the fields of science, engineering and statistics, the accuracy of a measurement system is the degree of
closeness of measurements of a quantity to that quantity's true value.

works of authorship, including. literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works.

Censorship
Censorship is the suppression of free speech, public communication or other information which may be considered
objectionable, harmful, sensitive, politically incorrect or inconvenient as determined by governments, media outlets,
authorities or other groups or institutions.
