Tasks:

We are currently looking for a high-caliber individual to join our team and to help create the most
sophisticated analytic solutions. Therefore, we are seeking a Data Scientist in time series analysis
and machine learning to be part of our growing Advanced Analytics Team, which is part of the
exciting and world-wide distributed Finance Community.

The Advanced Analytics Team focuses on cutting edge technologies in big data analytics and
machine learning to gain exceptional business insights from huge amount of data and data-sources
to improve the competitiveness of Daimler Financial Services. In the rolling forecast project we are
generating based on e.g. ETS, ARIMA, ARIMAX, SSA and EMD methods innovative financial
forecasts used around the world.

Your tasks will be:

This Data Scientist will contribute to our research activities by applying modern data analytics and
machine learning on a variety of structured data from the wide area of different countries, business
units and P&L positions with the goal to improve the forecast, gain business insights and help
various business units to improve competitive advantage in their markets.
The Data Scientist will be responsible for developing new algorithms like: Support Vector Machines,
Recurrent Neural Network, Hidden Markov Model, Multivariate Time Series Analysis using VAR,
VARIMA, Latent Models and PCA, Non-Linear time series models, Fuzzy time series methods or
multi-state modeling, code prototypes as proof of concept and finally roll it out to countries in very
close collaboration with our business partners and IT colleagues.
We are looking for a creative thinker, detail-oriented, results-driven analytic person with great
communication skills and a strong knowledge of predictive modeling and statistical techniques and
propose innovative ways to look at problems by using data mining approaches on the set of
information available.

Qualification:

Education:
Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, IT or Industrial Engineering preferred

Experience and specific knowledge:

Must have a strong proficiency in algorithms for data mining and machine learning
Outstanding knowledge in mathematics and stochastic
Strong proficiency in R and capability for quick prototyping
Ability to work with BigData technology in accordance to run algorithms productively
Strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment by applying agile working methods
