The Significator
This is the card chosen to represent the querent. It is almost always a face
card, and should be chosen with the querent's personality and attributes in
mind. (Usually the querent themselves will choose one, or you can pick one
for them based on what "feels" like them.) An alternative to this card
position is a card layed down when doing the spread, and the card would
detail the situation itself.
2. The Foundation
What the question is based on; this is a little hard to define, but you will get
a feeling for what this card signifies.
4. The Crown
This card gives you a sense of what is permeating the question; this may be
something that the querent aspires to, or what the querent hopes the
situation will become.
5. Recent Events
Recent events that will have a bearing on the current situation.
6. The Querent
While the Significator already represents the querent, this will tell how the
querent feels about the question and other details; it is a picture of the
querent as relates to the situation.
1 . Th e Pa st . This card represents past events that are affecting the queston or
situation the querent is asking about.
3. The Immediate Future. Near events that will affect this situation.
6 . An Obst a cle . This is something the querent must overcome to resolve the
situation.
7. The Final Outcome. This is what will happen with the situation.

General Spread 1
This is a good reading for anyone who just wants something general about their
life.
General Spread 2
Cards 1,2, and 3 are the past. Ca r ds 4 ,5 , a nd 6 are the present, and Cards 7,8,
and 9 are the future. This is just an expansion of the first spread.
THE TREE OF LIFE SPREAD
The Significator.
This card represents the querent and should be chosen from amongst the
Kings, Queens, Knights, or Pages.
1. Aims or Ideals.
This card represents what the querent would like to achieve.
2. Influences.
What is influencing the situtation.
3. General Nature.
This is the general nature of the question; it defines it more completely.
4. The Key.
This may be something that the querent osn't seeing; it is the key to the
answer to the question or how to resolve the situation, or how to achieve
what the querent is attempting to achieve.
The center card marked S is the Significator, which is a card that represents the
querent. The other cards represent the astrological houses. Here is what
each of the houses represents:
First House
Aries -- Personality; appearances; outlook on life.
Second House
Taurus-- Financial matters, material possessions.
Third House
Gemini -- Matters of communication.
Fourth House
Cancer -- Old age, endings, home environment.
Sixth House
Virgo -- Health and hygiene.
Seventh House
Libra -- Marriage and partnerships.
Eighth House
Scorpio -- Death and losses.
Ninth House
Sagittarius -- travel and dreams.
Tenth House
Capricorn -- Careers and ambitions.
Eleventh House
Aquarius -- Friendships and associations.
1. The Past.
This card tells about the past and how it relates to the question.
2. The Present.
This card will tell about the present; this defines the present situation as it relates
to the question.
3. The Future.
The outcome of the situation, if nothing is done to change it.
4. Below.
This is what is working against the querent, or what they aren't seeing.
5. Above.
What is working for the querent to their advantage.
