3.6.2 Pressure gauges shall have a full-scale rang between 150 percent and 200
percent of test pressure, and an accuracy and sensitivity of 2% of full scale
reading.
3.6.3 All pressure gauges and chart recorders shall have been calibrated within
30 days prior to testing.
3.6.4 Minimum of two gauges shall be provided for each test system. One located at
the highest point and one located at the pump grade.
3.7 Completion of Testing
3.7.1 Pressure test shall be considered complete when:
a. All defective welds, defective materials, flange leaks, valve gland, leaks or
other such defects have been corrected to the satisfaction of the client.
b. All test pack information is complete and accepted.
c. All temporary test blinds have been removed, new gaskets installed and
the piping system reinstated.
3.7.2 After hydrostatic testing of the system is complete and approved all lines and
equipment shall be completely drained of the test fluid.
Piping system vents shall be opened while draining to avoid vacuum.
Special attention shall be given to points where water may be trapped.
4.1.1 The system will filled with water, the water level in the stand hose will
measured, noted and marked on the stand hose with a marker to indicate the water
level (this test method we use a standpipe or stand hose of diameter not less than 1
inch to create the required pressure head which should be 3m (0.3 bar) and this test
method is also well know as a drop test because a drop in the water level is an
indication of a leak and after a required hold period of 2 hours the water level in the
stand hose is rechecked and any leak location is determined by visual inspection).
