Lesson 2: Writing Out the Webpage


June 27-31, 2016

I. Objectives
After discussing the subject matter, the students are expected to be able to:
1. Use the heading and paragraph tags.
2. Create different kinds of lists and nest one upon another.
3. Input a preformatted text and a horizontal rule into the Web
page.

B. Materials and Equipment
o A table of HTML tags and their functions
C. Reference: Writing Out the Web Page, Web Scripting, Lesson 2

III. Procedure
(Day 1)
A. Preparation
1. Review
Let the students recite individually. Ask them to:
o Explain the functions of the main elements of HTML.
2. Vocabulary Development
Dead Link Headings
Definition List Hyperlinks
Download Link Internal Link
External Link Links
FILO Nesting

B. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation
Ask the class what they would like to add to their first Web page.
Would they like to give it more life and improve its font and format?
What do they have in mind?

State that Web page design is like creating a book. Using the
appropriate tags, Web designers can create Web pages with the look
that they want. They can put texts, tables, lists, images, colors, and even
video and audio files.

2. Motive Questions
o What are the uses of tags in HTML documents?
o What would HTML be like without the tags?
3. Discussion
Discuss the lesson. Use the table of HTML tags and their functions as a
reference.

(Day 2)
IV. Engagement Activity
Create the following page using the code snippets found in the book and the
table of HTML tags as references.
The page should contain the following format:
The students name in boldface.
The students address in italics.
An unordered list of the students hobbies. There should be at
least five hobbies.
An ordered list of the students favorite desserts. There should be
at least five desserts.
(Day 3)
V. Evaluation
Give Part B of the Measure section of their Web Scripting book as a quiz.

VI. Assignment
Ask them to think of what would be a good topic for a website.
