There are 5 stations, where the SKs from both kindergarten
classrooms come and do the different activities. I will be doing
a Pumpkin Fall Words activity where they will pick a word
from the bag and have to find the corresponding picture on their
paper and have to write the capital letter of that word.
Pumpkin Fall Words
3 objectives
1. They will be able to demonstrate an interest in reading
(11.1) as they will have to look at the word and
recognize the picture.
2. They will also be able to use illustrations to support the
comprehension of texts between the words and pictures
(11.7)
3. They will also be able to demonstrate knowledge of
letters (11.8) having to figure out what the word starts
with writing it down.
Materials used
- 1 bag
- 30 Pages with the corresponding pictures of the 8 words
- Pencils
Step-by-step Description
I will ask them what words have they learned that are in the fall.
One by one they will be able to reach into the bag and grab a
word. Once chosen they have to recognize the letters and sounds
then sound it all out. They will then all find the picture that
corresponds with the word and they will have to write down the
letter that the word starts with.
