The teacher of the classroom was not going to be at school in
the morning so she asked me to take over and due the morning
carpet routine as some supply teachers may not know the songs.
Morning Circle
3 objectives
1. They will be able to continue their routine and follow
the same pattern as everyday that they come to school
even if the teacher was there or not. (18.1)
2. They are able to demonstrate the ability to take turns
during the morning discussion (3.2) as the teacher will
call each child one by one and ask them a question, for
example: Whats your favourite colour? What is your
favourite desert? Etc.
3. To establish a community where we learn about one
another and create awareness of others. (26.1) They will
have a sense of belonging and are valued in the group

Step-by-step Description
I will start by saying good morning to them when they come in,
help them settle in and putting a sticker on their calendar in their
binder if it is signed. I will then ask them to go to the carpet
where I will be doing attendance and asking them a question
What is your favourite toy to play with? and as I call them on
the attendance they will answer it.
Then we will sing
1. The 7 days of the week song
2. The 12 months of the year
3. Today is ___ song
4. Kindergarten song from the CD
5. Hey there neighbour song
The Special Bee will then be called and will put on the special
weather glasses and they will have to tell us what the weather is
like outside. Then will come to the front to say what day it is on
the calendar and how many days we have been in school.
Lastly, we will be doing morning slide when one JK and one
SK have a word that they have to sound out and say.
By the time we finish the morning introduction the music
teacher will be coming in and taking over.
