Religion: We are learning about caring for others
and caring for ourselves. We read about the Holy
Family in our religion book. Reminders
Reading: We read a story this week about *Thanksgiving Prayer Service is on
monsters from TV shows. We practiced the Tuesday, November 21 at 1:30.
spelling rules for adding endings to base words
with short vowel sounds. We created a character *No school on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
web based on the monster in the story.

Language Arts: We are practicing writing Thursday, November 30.
sentences correctly. We are writing in our
November journals. We are working with parts of
speech: nouns, proper nouns, verbs, compound
words, and contractions.

Math: We reviewed addition strategies. Using a

variety of these strategies, we found the sums for
many addition problems. We are practicing the
double facts from 0+0 to 10+10. We are using
doubles +1 strategy to solve problems. Example: to
solve 6+7 use the double fact 6+6 and add 1 more.

Social Studies: We read about the story of the first

Thanksgiving. We are writing our own story of the
Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Native Americans.
We are watching videos from Scholastic about the
voyage and that first year. Star Students
