Procedure

1. Tell students they are going to guess what their partner

did or didnt do last weekend. To model the activity,
ask students to guess what you did or didnt do last
weekend. Elicit a few ideas and write them on the board,
for example: You watched a basketball game on TV.
You shopped online. You didnt call your mother. Then
tell students which guesses were correct. Correct the
information in the wrong guesses, for example: I didnt
watch a basketball game on TV. I watched a movie with
my family.
2. Put students in pairs and distribute worksheets. Each
student receives one worksheet. Have students read the
sentences on the sheet. Answer any questions about
vocabulary.
3. Have students check Yes or No in the My guess column
for each statement. Make sure students do not look at
their partners sheet or discuss the sentences yet. Give
students about five minutes to do this.
