Ranges may vary depending on selected power supply variant. Operating temperature determination if power is
supplied from an AC/DC converter will be AC/DC manufacturer dependent. Dimensioning of convenient power supply
is done for peak electrical motor power (Pmax) not to exceed 50% of AC/DC load capacity.

in Single-line variants.

Defining a cycle: A cumulative 20%DoD continued by a cumulative 20% charge is considered a cycle (SoCmax-SoCmin-
SoCmax). Aiming to prolong battery lifetime, a maximum of 20%DoD is permitted by the system. Typical motor
actuation might produce a discharge ripple lower than the typical operation maximum DoD which must not be
considered a cycle.

Deeper discharges are managed periodically by the system for Gas Gauging recalibration

Alarm generation.
o Currents exceeding 15.5A measured by motor current sensor are flagged to the
micro-controller.
o Temperatures exceeding 65C in the battery pack are treated as an over-
temperature fault which lead to charger inhibition (nor will the battery charge
or discharge as electronics enter in low power consumption mode and motor
actuation is inhibited).
o Over-discharge of battery is signaled to the micro-controller, as indicated by
user-setup minimum threshold register.
SoC estimation.
Coulomb counting and voltage sensing allow State of Charge (SoC) estimation. Initial OCV
measurement becomes critical when determining initial SoC. This is done by permitting
sporadic whole charge processes (CC/CV is activated and a full charge is archived). Impedance
tracking techniques lead to an estimation of the SoH (State of Health) value, ideal for battery
aging control.

TEMP_A1, TEMP_A2
The Suntrack Self-powered variant tracker controller can be employed to operate in a Sun
tracking system, powered by a Photovoltaic Solar panel, while charging batteries when solar
energy is available and draining them to power external boards and system components. The
dedicated solar panel is dimensioned in power according to system needs (battery
architecture- 8S1P, 8S2P, etc). During normal radiation conditions -depending on motor
power requirements- the panel should be capable of supplying enough energy to the system,
so batteries will not be drained. In situations with enough solar energy and a higher power
requirement from system components, both, the panel and the battery are used in
conjunction to supply the necessary amount of power. Temperature sensors located near the
battery, ensure safe charge/discharge cycles to prolong battery life.

TEMP_A1, TEMP_A2
The Suntrack String-Pluggable Parasitic Power (SP3) Converter can be employed to power
the Suntrack Selfpowered SL-SPT-PV-3 system, enabling charging of batteries when solar
energy is available (when site inverter is operating). In situations with enough solar energy
and a higher power requirement from system components, both, the panel and the battery
are used in conjunction to supply the necessary amount of power. The main function of the
string parasitic unit is to provide energy to batteries, due to its limited power, which will be
upgradable in future versions.
