1. The teacher lets the students read silently the story Back to School.
2. The teacher will ask volunteers to do the following:
- Read and underline the sentence in the first paragraph that describes Carlos
mother.
- Read the sentence that shows Carlos excitement in going to school. Underline it.
- Read the sentences that show the bus drivers kindness.
- Read the sentence that describes the school guard.

B. Analysis
1. What have you noticed from the sentences you underlined?

3. How does a sentence end?

C. Abstraction
1. What is a sentence?
2. Can you give examples of a sentence?
