MUBENDE

TOWN
COUNCIL
A township with various untapped
resources

An area struck by poverty and disease

A council with a “BIG” interest to care

for its people
 The town is located
in the Mid-West of
Uganda

 Surrounded by 99
beautifully green
hills

 Ready for the

steady and fast
development of its
people
 A Tumwater City Sister-
ship was created in 2007
to help improve the
situation down here

 To date, no fruits have

been borne as yet from
this unity
The Areas that need strong Awakening in the Short and
Long Terms are;

SHORT TERM/ IMMEDIATE

1. Water and Sanitation

2. Education
3. Health
4. Culture
5. Information Technology
6. Legal and Human Rights
IN THE LONG TERM

7. Agriculture
8. Trade and Investment
9. Tourism
10. Governance
 Stake holders and
their beneficiaries must
all be involved in the
development process

 Sister-ships shall
therefore be
strengthened in this
regard
Water,
Hygiene
&
 Sanitation
 This unsafe
water source
supplies at least
three villages in
Makenke area

 Each household
is made up of seven
people on average

 The situation is worse
in Kibyayi area.

 This unhygienic
water source supplies
four villages, each
house hold
comprising of
seven/eight people on
average
 The helpless Villagers
passing on their
grievances to the Mayor,
and delegates at the
dried up water reserve in
Kavuuma

 Bore holes and piped

water might as well
address their plight
 Timely
Intervention has been
promised by the
Town Council
Executive

 Development work
is an urgent necessity
in all spheres – civil,
social, economic,
cultural e.t.c
THE EDUCATION SECTOR

 Still Poor and lacking improvement.

• There is no University in the district

• School dues are exceptionally high

• School Buildings are in a sorry state

• Formal education needs updating

 Education must surely
be holistic.
 Some infrastructure and
curriculum should be
enhanced.

 Imagine such as
represent a school
entrance......

 Elementary and Adult

Literacy schemes should
be a centre of focus
 The situation is
ultimately alarming

 Kids walk several

miles to go to these
schools

 Not enough
scholastic materials and
visual aids are present
 With little learning
environments, kids still
endeavour the situation

 At least classrooms
should be helped put in
place

 NOTE THAT:
 THE HEALTH SECTOR
 Still one of the UNDER-SERVED, yet most essential

• No Health Centre in Operation

• No medical staff
• No medical equipment
• No Laboratory & drugs
• No Casualty receptions
• No Reproductive services
• No Ambulances
 The Town
Health Centre

• Very empty
• Very small
• Not in use at
all
• Redundant

Births, deaths &

accidents
happen daily

THE
