Florence Nightingale

I think one of the most interesting people in history

was Florence Nightingale. She became a nurse in
1844. In October 1853, the Crimean War started.
Florence wanted to help the soldiers so she travelled
to the war. There were thousands of soldiers in
hospital. The hospital was dirty. There were rats and
some men didnt have beds. Florence and the other
nurses cleaned the hospital and looked after the
soldiers.

On 9th July, 1860, she started a nursing school in

London. It still exists today.

She died at 12pm on 13th August, 1910.

I like Florence Nightingale because she wanted better

hospitals and training for nurses.
