Jason Endacott

I will be summarizing this article

Historical empathy is discussed heavily in the article. This is when a student or any
for that matter, takes an historic figure and put themselves in their shoes. They will
better understand how they lived, what they felt, and their beliefs. Historical
empathy has increase recently because this idea helps people learn in K-12 what
these people faced during the era in which they lived. A lot of other people have
tried to exactly define and present what historical empathy is, but Jason Endacott is
going to define what historical empathy is by promoting this idea. Many other
people have tired to define historical empathy like was just mentioned, but other
scholar have researched the positive effects this has on students understanding and
learning of historical figures. It has been found that historical empathy is not
consistent in the classroom, so Endacott is going to theorize how to achieve this.
