Assessment

Summative- Students will be given both a physical grade and a social grade for this unit. Students physical grade will be assessed through how
students demonstrate and improve specific basketball skills. Students will be assessed on dribbling, passing, layups and shooting. Students will
be given a mark out of 4 for each of these skills. Students will be given a mark out of 16 based on how they perform for each skill. Students social
grade will be done through self-assessment. At the end of the unit, students will be asked to give themselves a mark out of 10 based on their
social skills for the unit.

Formative- Students will be assessed formatively through asking questions about skills and rules. Also through discussions at the beginning and
end of class about goals we are trying to meet. Students will also be formatively assessed by teacher observation, looking for students that giving
an effort, and trying to perform specific skills as they were taught.

Differentiation

While the lessons are the same for the 3 grades, that does not mean they will be done all the same for each grade. There will be variaitons of
lessons for each grade. For the lower grades, more time will be spent on learning specific skills and working on the progressions of a certain
skills. While for the grade 8s, time will be spent on skills but not as much time on the specifics of the skills. More time will be spent on
demonstrating these skills in a gameplay situation or a drill of some sorts.
