1. What is the topic of your lesson?

The topic of our lesson is to discuss the clothes we wear daily and where they come from
around the world.

2. Why are you teaching this lesson? What is your rationale for teaching it?

We are teaching this lesson to help students understand how different cultures can come
together and have commonalities such as the clothes we wear.

3. What is your Teaching Behavior Focus? Why did you choose this?

Our teaching behavior focus that we are paying close attention to is building classroom
climate. Because our lesson focuses on different parts of the world having similarities
that make us alike, its important that we provide this same environment and idea for our
students. By allowing opportunities for student discussion, collaboration, and being
aware of our community, we hope to create a comfortable and engaging environment for
students

4. Why did you design your instruction in this lesson the way that you did? Why did you
choose this way of teaching the lesson (e.g., Was the idea from a methods course? From
your mentor teacher? Another source?)

We designed our instruction this way because we wanted to structure the lesson to be
similar to a lesson that would normally be taught in class.

5. As you are thinking through this lesson, what do you believe will be the most challenging
part of this lesson for you when you teach it? Why?

When thinking through our lesson, we believe that the hardest part will be having the
kids make the connection that their clothes are made all over the world and that there is
nothing wrong with that. Although they are wearing the clothes now, they come from all
over the world and the people making them could be wearing something similar.
6. How will you know if your learning outcomes for the students are met successfully?

We will know if our learning outcomes for the students have been met successfully by
assessing them with a worksheet following the lesson being taught. The worksheet will
consist of questions pertaining to the lesson that will gauge the student's new
understanding such as what different countries did classmates have clothes come from,
along with questions relating the students to people from other countries.

7. How will your classroom management support the learning outcomes?

Thinking closely about our previous experiences with teaching lessons to the class, we
will pay close attention to classroom management to ensure that the students are
learning in an effective environment. We will try our best to keep all students attentive
and to try to reduce distractions from other students during the lesson.

8. List 1-3 areas which you would like for your observer to pay particular attention. Why
do you want your observer to focus on these areas?

Class engagement - We want to ensure that the students seem to be engaged in the lesson
and excited to be learning about the given subject
Strength-based language - We want to make sure we are talking about all students and
people from other countries in a positive light, focusing only on the good
Flexibility - We want to make sure that with any questions students ask or any problems
that arise that we can adapt quickly and well to keep the lesson flowing smoothly

9. Is there anything else you would like your observer to know before the observation?

We are very excited to teach this lesson!
