Ceremonial flag is the symbol of the State that respect means also respecting the State of RI. RI
flag is red and white. In this world nothing is the same flag. But if only there could be similar. For
example, a red flag with the white flag of Monaco.

Dan yang saya sayangi siswa-siswi Semuanya.

Pada pagi hari ini kita bersama-sama berkumpul di halaman sekolah adalah dalam rangka
melaksanakan upacara bendera.

Upacara bendera sangat penting karena dengan melaksanakan upacara bendera berarti kita
menghormati bendera negara RI. Siapa lagi yang menghormati bendera RI kalau bukan warga
negara Indonesia. Seperti yang kita ketahui bahwa bendera adalah salah satu simbol negara.
Ada beberapa simbol negara misalnya, garuda, ideologi, Pancasila, UUD45, bendera merah
putih, presiden dan lain sebagainya.

Upacara bendera adalah penghormatan simbol negara yang berarti juga menghormati negara
RI. Bendera RI berwarna merah putih. Di dunia ini tidak ada yang benderanya sama. Tapi kalau
hanya mirip mungkin ada. Misalnya bendera merah putih dengan bendera Monaco.

Manusia juga tidak ada yang sama, kalau mirip mungkin ada misalnya dua anak kembar
memiliki perbedaan sidik jari, atau yang satu ada tahi lalatnya yang satu lagi tidak.

Ada yang mengatakan bahwa bendera RI adalah berasal dari bendera Belanda yaitu merah
putih biru yang di sobek birunya menjadi merah putih. Ada yang mengatakan bendera merah
putih berasal dari kerajaan Majapahit di Jawa Timur pada abad ke 13.

Terlepas dari benar atau salah tentang asal-usulnya, bahwa bendera RI tidak sama dengan
bendera lainnya. Bendera merah putih berskala 3:4 (tiga banding empat) sedangkan Monaco
4:5 (empat banding lima), sehingga bendera RI kelihatan lebih panjang dibandingkan dengan
bendera Monaco.

Manfaat lain dari upacara bendera adalah untuk kesehatan, melatih disiplin.

Dengan berdiri di lapangan yang disinari oleh sinar matahari pagi maka akan menyehatkan
tulang, kulit, dan badan, karena sinar matahari pagi mengandung pro-vitamin D.

Upcara bendera melatih disiplin karena bila sudah ada aba-aba dari pemimpin upacara, maka
seluruh peserta upacara mengikutinya.. bila aba-aba istirahat di tempat maka semuanya
istirahat di tempat. Bila aba-aba siap maka semuanya dalam posisi siap.

Disiplin adalah salah satu karakter atau akhlak yang mulia. Sebagaimana yang kita ketahui
bahwa karakter adalah salah satu unsur pokok dalam kurikulum pendidikan Indonesia.

Buat apa siswa pintar tapi akhlaknya tidak baik. Tapi yang lebih baik adalah siswa yang pintar
dan akhlaknya juga baik.
