Intervention Plan: Each week, I plan to introduce a new social skill during a 10-15
minute class meeting time. During class meetings we will use different greetings, group
games, songs, or other group participation activities to implement and practice the social
skills. At the current time, the social skills I hope to teach include: greetings, gestures and
eye contact, manners, complimenting others, taking turns, sharing materials, active
listening, and how to resolve conflicts.
I adapted my forms
and made them more
of a checklist for the
social skills so that I
could see week-by-
week which children
were applying skills
that had been covered.
For my own
observation while
leading our morning
meetings, I created a
tally sheet to
document how many
prompts students
needed from me to
complete the
presented social skill
during an activity.
Student Interview Occuring week 3-8 of I hope to use a child-
data collection friendly questionnaire
with the students to
(Once at beg. of week see how they feel
4 and end of week 6) about their knowledge
of the following social
skills: greetings,
gestures and eye
contact, manners,
complimenting others,
taking turns, sharing
materials, active
listening, and how to
resolve conflicts.
Teacher interviews
may occur more than
once over this period
of time, as needed
Parent Feedback End of 6-8 week data After completing data
Questionnaire collection collection during the
6-8 weeks I hope to
send a follow-up
questionnaire using
likert scale questions
to gain parent
feedback on whether
they saw any changes
in social skills in their
child
