Ephesians 2
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by
the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one
and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hos@lity, 15 by seBng aside in his

one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile

Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and lled the
whole house where they were siBng. [3] They saw what seemed to be tongues of re
that separated and came to rest on each of them. [4] All of them were lled with the
Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
14Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd:
"Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen

was upon them all. [34] There were no needy persons among them. For from @me to
@me those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales

them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being
overlooked in the daily distribu@on of food.

So the Twelve gathered ALL THE DISCIPLES TOGETHER and said, "It would not be right
for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. BROTHERS,
CHOOSE SEVEN MEN FROM AMONG YOU who are known to be full of the Spirit and
wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our aYen@on to
prayer and the ministry of the word." THIS PROPOSAL PLEASED THE WHOLE GROUP.
They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also [six others] So the
word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem INCREASED RAPIDLY, and a
LARGE NUMBER OF PRIESTS BECAME OBEDIENT TO THE FAITH.
