Funciones Especiales
Son funciones con ciertas caractersticas especficas que lo diferencian de
muchas otras funciones.
Funcin par:
Es una funcin real f tal que x Df , se cumple:
f(x) = f(x)
f(x) = x2
Ejemplo:
Averige si f es una funcin par donde
f(x) = |2x+3| + |2x3|
f(x) = f(x)
Calculamos f(x)
f(x) = | 2(x) + 3| + |2(x) 3|
= |2x+3| + |2x3|
= 1 |2x+3| + 1|2x3|
= |1| |2x+3| + |1| |2x3|
= |2x3| + |32x|

f(x) = x 2 5
Calculando f(x):
f(x) = ( x )2 5
= x2 5
f(x) = f(x)
x2 5 = x2 5
f s es funcin par
f(x) = f(x)
Ejemplo:
Averige si f(x) = x3 + 2x es impar.
f(x) = f(x)
Calculando f(x):
= x3 2x
= (x3 + 2x)
f(x) = f(x)
f s es funcin impar

Funcin Suryectiva
A B
1
a
Rf = B
b
5 f es suryectiva
c
Funcin Biyectiva
Sea f A B es una funcin real biyectiva, entonces f es inyectiva y
suryectiva.
Funcin Inversa
La funcin inversa de f denotado por f 1: B A es una nueva funcin de la
forma:
f1 = { f(x) , x / x A f(x) B }
Ejemplo:
f = { (2,3) , (4,5) , (6,7) }
f1 = {(3,2) , (5,4) , (7, 6) }
f1 es la funcin inversa de f
Ejemplo:
f = {(3,2), (5, 2), (4, 1)}
Se observa que f no es inyectiva
g = {(2, 3), (2, 5), (1, 4)}
g no tiene funcin inversa
Ejemplo: f: A B
f(x) = x + 1
A = {x/x es par 2 x 6}
B = {y/y es impar 3 4 7} = {3, 5, 7}
18

Rf = {3, 5}
Rf B
no es suryectiva
f1(x) = x 1
f1 = {(3,2), (5, 4)}
Df 1 = {3, 5}
B1 = {3, 5, 7}
f1 no es funcin
Conclusin: Para que una funcin tenga inversa debe ser inyectiva y
suryectiva; es decir, biyectiva.
Propiedades:
La funcin
f(x) = ax + b + cx d con a y c del mismo signo.
Df = Rf Rf = Df
