IT Project Manager - Job description

Position summary
Under supervision from Senior Project Manager or Director, leads or supports technology projects for business and
technology initiatives to successful completion. Working with business, executive and IT participants, the IT Project
Manager manages/helps to manage project activities leading to a successful business outcome for a project or series of
project.

Job qualifications
Demonstrated experience in managing simple to medium to high complexity projects to successful completion
Business process analysis experience including knowledge of business workflow and process concepts
Ability to identify needs in organizational change management as they relate to project success
Able to identify project barrier/issues proactively
Able to understand a clients point of view while still identifying the need for best practices to reduce organizational risk
Strong business process analysis skills, including gap analysis for both business and technology
Able to quickly learn new business models and document analysis results clearly
Communicates well in both verbal and written forms, including performing in client-facing presentations
Able to work independently to handle multiple concurrent projects of moderate complexity, which may include global
implementations and roll-outs
Technically competent in IT technologies and methodologies of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC
requirements, design, development, deployment, support)
Competent IT knowledge with key database and web applications concepts
5 or more years experience in IT or business process support with 3 in project management
Able to learn quickly and inspire interpersonal confidence, capable of becoming the trusted advisor to the business
Experience interfacing with operational, managerial level customer and internal contacts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills / effective listener
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
History of delivering exceptional customer service
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, Sharepoint and MS Project
Knowledge and experience in the SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle)
Ability to schedule and conduct web-based collaboration sessions (e.g., WebEx)
Ability to gain an in-depth knowledge of the WL proprietary systems
Ability to write training plans and conduct hands-on training
Capability to test systems and file feeds to ensure correctness and quality

Internal: Develop relationship with managerial and/or operational level internal leaders within Williams Lea, Operations
leaders and staff, IT leaders and staff
External: Develop relationship with managerial and/or operational level client contacts, client IT and staff contacts, vendor
and third party entities

Job duties

Manage projects including medium to large in complexity and those global in nature*
Communicate effectively and consistently with the supervising Project Manager and project stakeholders and executives as
appropriate, ensuring actions and issues are visible to all appropriate team members
Use influence and the trust of the stakeholders to drive project to successful completion
Display both operational/process knowledge and technical expertise to both internal and external clients and act as a
trusted team member to the business*
Conduct thorough and appropriate testing of technology solutions prior to go-live to ensure high quality results*
Provide support to existing operations in a post-deployment phase
Management of project activities and staff*
Document and communicate project status and issues*
Analyze work plans to identify issues and barriers
Perform business and process analyses including documenting results*
Present as appropriate to client, executive and operational audiences
Assist more Senior IT Project Manager(s) in keeping and publishing monthly chargeback/cost recovery for projects*
Conduct and assume responsibility for system and file feed testing/quality*
Build consultative relationship with external and internal clients*
Assist in troubleshooting on software, hardware and networks as appropriate
Train managerial and production staff on the proper use and administration of systems*
Provide sales support activities to Senior IT Project Manager, Director and Business Development teams as required
Weekly review of projects/activities with supervisor
