GRADUATION INFORMATION OBLIGATIONS

PROM SCHOLARSHIPS
The SHHS Junior / Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, May 8 th at Freedom Students should watch the announcements for scholarship information and check

“Beauty Is…” The Science Hill High School Showstoppers are proud to present the drama “I Never
Videography: Gold: Lucy L. Lyon (8th) Saw Another Butterfly” for it’s Spring Production 2010. “I Never Saw Another Butterfly”
Photography: Gold: Lauren Snapp(12th), “Mystery”, Silver: Lauren Snapp, “Autumn”, is a play set in Czechoslovakia during the Nazi occupation of that country, during which
Bronze: Lauren Snapp, “Love” over 15,000 Jewish children passed through the Nazi encampment known as Terezin.
Honorable Mention: Lauren Snapp, “Optimism” Only about a hundred were still alive when Terezin was liberated at the end of the war.
Literature: Gold: Emily R. Crawford (8th), Silver: Tasha D. Sutherland (8th), Bronze: Over 5,000 pieces of the children’s artwork and poetry survived Terezin and were found

SHHS PTSA will hold a brief informational meeting before the April 29 th rising 8th parent
meeting. PTSA Officers for 2010-2011 year will be voted upon & installed.

Spring Grounds Beautification workday on Saturday, March 6 th. Meet at the 8/9 Plaza.
Parent & student volunteers are needed. Students can earn 3 hrs of community service. Call

The next PTSA Legislative Day in Nashville is March 17th, and the topic is the Quality of
Education and Core Standards. Please contact Misty Davis at 423-341-4142 for more
information.

The 97th Tennessee PTA Annual Convention is April 30th – May 2nd in Nashville, TN, and the
National PTA Convention is June 10th – 13th, in Memphis, TN. State Convention information

SHHS PTSA would like to thank our volunteers that make our programs successful and
